But I'm curious, can harmonicas be bought that are already tuned to a minor cord or are they always major? Does one have to modify it somehow to get that minor sound? Thanks.

hey, I have a quick question, I have a M. Honer Echo, and the harmonica is a little over 70 years old D: I just can't seem to get a bluesy (or harp like) sound out of it. do oyu think it's just too old to play?

Try a 10 hole diatonic for the bluesy sound! Hohner Special 20 is a good start.

@ErinMorbid If you have a harmonica tuned in C you need to play for example blues in G on a guitar to get the bluesy sound. And to play blues in E u need a harmonica tuned in A

not necessarily..i have asthma but it only flares up when i do exercise not play harp. if you have severe asthma, that might be different. just remember to focus all of you airflow from your diaphragm, the lungs shouldn't be working too hard when you play.
