I hate that new rating system too, I blocked a lot of users because they tried to swearing me on my videos for no reason, now always and always I get dislikes from blocked users and I cannot block users from disliking my videos, the only solution is to disable rating option on your video, I hate this and I can't calm down!

Childlike types who are manipulated into worshiping attractive celebrities (any super-mass-marketed schlock placed before them) watch such vids by the millions...and THEY tend to "knee-jerk" rate their favorite subjects with perfect "5s"...yes, such banal, simplified humans DO tend to rate vids with an "all or nothing" mindset.
But regarding NON-mass-marketed vids/subjects, the star ratings were much more variable...and USEFUL.
I have 17 guitar instructional videos posted and they were all 5 star. I was proud of that so it's a little disapointing to me. I'm sure all the people with shitty videos will rejoice at the death of the rating system. I guess I was one of the very few who actually used all five possible ratings when looking at videos.

KEEP THE RATINGS!!! They're what tells us how crappy or awesome a video is if we compare them to the view count. I agree with Uchiha. Just have a thumbs up or down rating. Plain and simple. That will separate the videos that have content versus ones that dont. I speak from personal youtube-surfing experience, that there alot of videos out there that rename the video just for views and do not deliver what they claim to be. It gets annoying at a certain point and those that deserve credit often go unnoticed. Its also like that in the music industry and other art fields not just YouTube. remove ratings

well i like to see what video i'm watching based on the star rating, sometimes the video is like 2 1/2 stars, not something i'd watch. and if they change it to thumbs up and thumbs down i would be fine with it!
I like the idea of getting rid of the ratings. I almost never rate videos, and when I do it's always either 5 starts or occasionally 1 star... and I don't even look at ratings when I'm looking at videos, so I don't really care about them...
they should have a thing where you can look how much your comments have recieved thumbs up or thumbs down that would be a cool feature on a person's page.
I'd say rating thumbs up or thumbs down would be more useful since it's usually 1 or 5 stars that people rate. Some videos are intentionally misleading just to get views and those can be flagged, but a negative rating would help steer away from them.
They need to keep the rating system. That helps me know which of my videos people like the most. And allows users to express how they feel. I usually rate videos 5 stars or not at all, but I know the videos with the most and best ratings are the more popular ones.
But I guess it is being abused by the high ranked users because they always do say "rate 5 stars!". I feel that at least that part should be the opinion of the user and not force them to rate the video an automatic 5 stars. Let the video be rated how it should be rated.

well sometimes ratings help like if i wanted
"dog jumps over car" and i saw two videos one rated 5 stars and another rated 1 star i would go with the 5 starred one because the 1 star one could have been a spam video or had a misleading title

its true that you rate 5 or 1 but that tells you if you should watch if its 5 it cant be horrible if its 1 i dont watch

I am a big fan of your videos. I only mean this to be positive. But you need to get a better background, it just comes across as amateur and unprofessional.
Of which you are NEITHER!! Just get like a a blanket or something and hang it up behind you.

No but as a news style it would make more sense to have a background. Look at buckhollywood who he sort of styles his shows after.
VLOGS don't necessarily need a background, but when you're talking news a proffesional appearance goes a long way

Meh. WillofDC does well enough the way he's doing. I personally like the feeling his videos give. Anyway, it's the content, not the greenscreens that make a video good.

well i like to see what video i'm watching based on the star rating, sometimes the video is like 2 1/2 stars, not something i'd watch. and if they change it to thumbs up and thumbs down i would be fine with it!

I like the idea of getting rid of the ratings. I almost never rate videos, and when I do it's always either 5 starts or occasionally 1 star... and I don't even look at ratings when I'm looking at videos, so I don't really care about them...

I like the ratings. The views are always screwed up it, always says 311. At least with the ratings you see how many people really liked it.

I'd say rating thumbs up or thumbs down would be more useful since it's usually 1 or 5 stars that people rate. Some videos are intentionally misleading just to get views and those can be flagged, but a negative rating would help steer away from them.

They need to keep the rating system. That helps me know which of my videos people like the most. And allows users to express how they feel. I usually rate videos 5 stars or not at all, but I know the videos with the most and best ratings are the more popular ones.

But I guess it is being abused by the high ranked users because they always do say "rate 5 stars!". I feel that at least that part should be the opinion of the user and not force them to rate the video an automatic 5 stars. Let the video be rated how it should be rated.

i dont really care for the ratings. if its from a person with videos i love, i always rate them 5 stars or forget to. so ratings are pointless and it doesn't really matter to me if they stay or not.

If they get rid of ratings I wil b fn pissed. I rate stuff other than 1 or 5 all the time, if a video sux, but they did a good job with the camera angles and wat not I will rate at least 2, if I sense u didn't try as hard as some of ur other videos I will rate 3 or 4
