He's alive. No reason to think otherwise. Why he stopped could be that he got married and started a family. Maybe he got a good paying job and said enough of this raping/killing shit. Raping women gets old after about 50 rapes I guess.

What amazes me about this doc is it never mentions the connection with Mather AFB. I grew up in that area during the time of the rapes and all of the early rapes happened within 2 miles of the AFB. The jacket he had in So Cal had a military patch on it and a suspicious vehicle near one of the crimes had what appeared to be a military tag on the window. With his long hair it's doubtful that he was active military but the base during that period employed thousands of civilian workers.

Probably keeps an extremely low profile in California, never leaving his house or apartment except for work and brief groceries, maybe some fast-food drive-thru's as well.

I've read that DNA found at a Santa Barbara/Goleta crime scene did not match the DNA from the Original Night Stalker, so there's a good possibility those murders are not connected.
