@Blueparrot911 no. it works in firefox. So, if your vista has firefox, then you can do it. I made this video in linux. You could even use a mac. Firefox plugins (add-ons) are for the firefox browser, not the operating system (vista, xp, win7, bsd, osx, os/2, solaris)

I have the new version of firefox and i downloaded the plugin but it doesnt show on the the bottem left of the screen.

To answer the questions regarding if it downloads certain things from certain sites, the answer is "try it". It downloads many things different 'things' (media) from a website.  youtube is just the example I used. There are also many other plugins you can use to do the same thing, just make sure you get one from your browsers "market place" or "plugins directory", etc.

use at your own risk, your mileage may very.
