Hey i got a question. I own a garage in Orlando doing Automotive vinyl. we did a few cars in Chrome and gold vinyl wrap. but ive been thinking of buying the system, from Alsa Corp to paint in chrome. my qestion is How expensive is the liquid its self to do a full car? and how long does it last?
@SFSoldierbaby 1st let me correct my self a bit from last posting. The 1st thing you see as soon as the video starts is an activator applied, then a clean water risen then the silver nitrate.
Yes a car can be chromed, but 3 things. It isn't cheap, it isn't easy, and the reflection while out on the road will kill ya, and the other drivers on the road. It might look cool, but it will be a nightmare of a coating on the car. Fingers prints will drive you crazy because everyone wants to TOUCH IT!!!
@SFSoldierbaby The only paint is the base coat. The base coat is forced dried in 2-3 hours, over in the open over night dry time of 18-24 hours. The spray that comes out of the gun is the silver nitrate. The mix is mostly water. Watch how the white turns silver when the water mix is applied.

The liquid is 100% pure silver broken done into 3 liquid components and then are merged back together on the item being sprayed. It is really silver coating, not chrome, but has the same look as chrome, and that is what people are after. A clear coat after the piece is dried to keep the silver from tarnishing.
i have a random question i was going to go in for autobody and paint? would that be a decent career andis the were i should go do learn to fabricated new mods on a car.. lol just asking because you see like the most knowledgable about this here.
This isn't a career type of job painting chrome only, this is an off shot of painting. It is a bit different than painting, but the same aspect. If your going to be a detail car painter this is a great thing to add to your painting skills portfolio. If your a painter already, or just learning your way this is equal to painting a clear coat, except these pieces can never be touched with you hands till the final step is 100% dry.
@goldcylon - If it is silver how is it protected from tarnish? Clearcoat? I'd hate to have to think I'd have to maintain it like Mom's old silverware!
@AnAmericanFan Yes a clear coat is applied right after the item finished, and dried. Exposer in the open air will cause it to tarnish at a rapid pace.

Could you do a car like that? If so do you have any idea how much would it cost to do a 2010 Camaro? Where could I get this done?
