  • Don't miss Peter's Necrophorus

    project as well

  • I want to buy some Raison Detre, I think this is some some of the best dark ambient I've ever heard. However, they have such a expansive discography - where should I start?

  • @freeradicals Enthraled By The Wind Of Lonelienes is

as good a place as any to start

  • This sounds perfect for halloween. I feel as though I'm walking through one of those haunted mazes.

  • Golliwogg says: "beautiful."

  • Melancholy, haunting & distant sounding dark ambient music. Amazing.

  • They would be great for the Silent Hill video game soundtracks!.......

  • proper!

  • 3 dislikes? What reason would anyone have for disliking this?

  • @nitrisoxyde ...hey there, laughing gas.... those who disliked this object that it has no beat, and that one cannot dance to it.

  • @nitrisoxyde Lol Who in the world would dislike a graveyard for ships???

  • harsch,powerful and very deep...great song/video

  • Disturbingly mesmerizing but awesome!

  • Whoah.

  • ¡Autocombustion espontanea!

  • This is great, but i always forget their name. Great for Silent Hill or Horror soundtracks, but you get always get the boring hollywood composers bullying inspiring projects like this! The american industry loves predictable music.

  • A similar song to this: /watch?v=8msHJaPEESA

    Enjoy.

  • I've been sleeping and drawing to this song for years... Beautiful music. Is this the offical video? I though it would be raining in the video for Disintegrates

  • if this silence is frozen, I think there might be some form of life underneath the ice...

    don't you?

  • @muziekdoosje1 Beautiful.

  • they could make a music for silent hill, or for chernobyl footage

  • This music is incredible

  • Great, great song. I love it. Though I don't think the boat underwater fit the song.

  • Amazing Video and song, simply amazing!

  • on acid this rules the world...and Sid vicious of course

  • Great band!

  • Absolutely brilliant

I am currently working on an industrial/ambient/black metal project of my own under the moniker BLACK ACID, and Raison D'Etre (among the likes of SUNN O))) and Blut Aus Nord) are an inspiration 24-7

It is truly a shame that music like this can be so often overlooked by those ignorant of true art in favor of mainstream dreck

Fuck those money grabbing posers, HAIL to Raison D'Etre!

  • might be the reason why my ska-deathmetal-digital hardcore band never took off.

its overlooked because people dont really care to listen to ambient/drone music. simple. you cant blame them.

  • True music rarely gets the attention it deserves...

    Just amazing. Five stars.

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing.

  • hey who sings song angel

  • Raison d 'Etre has been one my favorite dark, experimental music groups for a long time.

The clip reminds me of the movie "Stalker", by visionary Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky.

  • 'Raison D'etre' is one person. His name is Peter Anderson, a great sweedish composer and musician

  • Truly a pearl of art. I'd love to have some of Raison D'être's albums.

  • Oh my, the world doesn't feel so hectic anymore! Great song and even greater atmosphere! Thanks for uploading!

  • Great!

  • I would have his babies, were it anatomically possible. He's fast becoming my favorite in the dark ambient genre.

  • This is my favorite track ever from Raison D'Etre. The buildup and the sheer intersity of this song is amazing.

  • Reminds me of Dungeons Of Darkness by Burzum.

  • joeschmoey says:

"Reminds me of Dungeons Of Darkness by Burzum."

i said the same when i hear it first time.awesome and the both!!

  • Red Birds will fly from the East and destroy Paris in a night

  • i love it:)

  • i got "within the depths of silence & phormations" the best ever dark ambiant album, a real masterpiece just like lying on the here after

  • One of the best artists imo.

  • Crea atmósferas deliciosas... esto es el paraíso.

  • This, actualy, looks like my video.

  • I love Raison d'Etre ! His music is powerfull and touches your soul!

  • Eh? How they made this video??

  • me gusta esa cancion es realmente oscura con sonidos de ambiente y densidad

  • Aye. Most excellent.

  • Where did you find this crazy video??!!???

  • yes, each subtle sound of darkness creates a new pattern. great track and imagery.

    VS

  • Haha! If you don't have ability to understand, then this is only your fault :) This is not Hollywood, man, if you prefere to look at the "Boo's " :D !

    Raison D'etre iz gud!

  • What the? it's pretty boring just showing a old rotting ship. I need at least something to pop out and say boo. The music is ok but the video is making me add. sorry. But guys, don't jump down my throat on this one. I'm not saying they suck because maybe their other songs are breath taking as you guys are saying.

  • To listen to Ambient music of any sort, you need a good attention span, and an acute sense of detail. All the extra sounds may seem random to a casual listener, but to someone familiar with the style of music, and who can find the flow, they actually contribute to a quite complex melody, in most ambient works. May I direct you to the band, Dahlia's Tear, for a good, and easier to hear, example of such? Specifically the song, "7th Sky She Winnows the Galanthus."

  • @FrozenSilence yeah, I think that applies to ambient in general, and I can use Brian Eno's first album as an example, which coined the term ambient music I think - it appears random, and actually is, as I think he layered automatic loops on top of each other or something, but as he says can function as background music as well as being actively listened to

  • @FrozenSilence

    Agreed

  • @FrozenSilence So I'm very open minded, because this is one of my favorite songs of all time. I have a huge playest on my other channel, called "Sindridge" search for it and a playlist will show up saying "Endless Dark Ambiance". Enjoy.

  • @FrozenSilence Dahlias Tear is awesome. I got into this kind of music all thanks to black metal or death metal bands using stuff like this in their instrumentals, and always wanted to hear more. And it was thanks to the Cold Meat Industry for carrying dark stuff like this. Which was later heard in the film Blair Witch Project with their closing theme. All this stuff is great.

  • Get one of their albums and listen to it late at night just before you go to bed.

  • i listen to them every day.i love them.the music is super:0

  • masak desa ma.ene maha dessu ga.wonderful

  • really strong music that makes one think and feel, but picture quality here was quite bad, not that it matters to me , I have the dvd haha!

  • everybody envies you now...

  • lol, I not because i have it too XD

  • Dvd, what dvd?

  • Thanks for sharing, Raison d'être is one of the greatest dark ambient bands.

  • i heart raison

  • you mean you did hear a bison?

  • I own PROSPECTUS I from the good old years. I am reminded in this video how Raison D'Etre is among the very best projects in Dark Ambient. Pure Post-Industrial darkness from the cold North. Haunting and expansive....

  • Petter Anderson is the most brilliant artist ever, you should try the natural fluxus and natural morte vids.

  • very nice. For all those out there that want some brilliant ambient music try LIQUID MIND. The band is LIQUID MIND, the composer is chuck wild. Amazon have some Liquid mind for £6

  • BEAU-TI-FUL

  • Watching Man-made machines and environments rusting and corroding reassures me in a way. The Elements and its cycle of Changes will always win overtake the machine.

  • Thanx for sharing, but I have to say, I'm almost to scared to watch the video because I find his music sometimes terrifying enough.

  • oooooooh....i'm surprised...Raison is the finest "ethereal" dark ambient...very soft musik.

THANKS FOR SHARING. 5 STARS AND FAVORITED!

  • Hail!!!
