The rear view camera is powered by your reverse lights wire, and it comes on automatically when you throw it in reverse. You could, instead connect it to a switch and turn it on whenever you want to.
So, it sounds like you have what you need to play video from your iPod on your JVC. I would love for you to talk with our Tech Support department. They'll be able to troubleshoot that with you.
If you bought the JVC from Crutchfield, you can call Tech Support free for the life of the KW-AVX720. If you bought it elsewhere, that's ok, you can purchase our tech support by itself.
Assuming your Equinox's rear video system has a composite video input, you will be able to connect the 720, or the 820, or their replacement models the 730 and the 830. They all have RCA (composite) video and L/R Audio outputs.
You can get all the info you need on these models at the Crutchfield website, and for specific vehicle fit info, give us a call at the number below.
We actually did a video all about how to find out of a radio fits your car, it's call "Will it Fit My Car?" You can look through our videos to find it, or just do a search on YT to find it. I would provide a link to it if YT allowed links in comments.
i have the ks-us30 cable. do i have to connect it to the rca connect in the back of the unit or could i plug it directly into the exisiting usb port that comes from the unit itself. also is it something special i have to do to the settings on the av to make it play video.
If you bought your JVC from Crutchfield, you can call Tech Support at the number on your Crutchfield invoice. I’m certain they can help with your question. One of the many reasons to buy from Crutchfield.
If you bought it elsewhere, you can purchase our Tech Support. Call us for more details
The KW-AVX820 has been replaced by the new JVC KW-AVX-830. You can find it on Crutchfield's website. Just do a search for the model number.
Sadly though, it will not fit your 07 Dodge Charger unless yours came with the factory navigation stereo. Either way, call us, we have options for you. Phone number for Crutchfield is 800 315 0030.
just got the 720 also......gets installed tomrrow at 9AM man after watching this video l'm beyond Phcyked!!! fuck yeah l'll be a kid in a candy store with this sterio man l didn't even know it had a 7channel equilzer thats kickin
Great news, these radios will fit a 96 Celica GT. There may be some wiring issues that would best be discussed over the phone. Feel free to call us at the number below for all the fit and wiring info you'll need to get this in your car.
Also, you can play MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG, MPEG1, and MPEG2 files only.
wait so i can attach my iphone and control the songs playing from the radio!? also will i be able to take the call from my iphone if its plugged in instead of bluetooth!
To have the "Answer iPhone while listening to music on an external device" feature requires the external device, such as the car stereo to be "Made for iPhone,"
If it doesn't say that, than it probably won't allow that, you'll need to go into "Airplane Mode."
To see current models that are "Made for iPhone" go to Crutchfield, we've got a bunch of them.
The 720 and 820's USB port allows you to play USB mass storage and Media Transfer Protocol devices such as a USB thumbdrive, Digital Audio Player or portable HDD loaded with MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG, MPEG1, and MPEG2 files. For the unit to recognize the USB medium, You must use FAT 12, FAT 16, or FAT 32.
For more info, check these models out on Crutchfield, we've got all the detailed specs. Or call us at the number below.
We are not aware of a TV tuner for automotive use that is compatible with the new DTV format (ATSC). You could of course use a converter box designed for home use if you can rig up the power in your vehicle, but that's usually more trouble than it's worth.
Right now we are waiting to see if any car stereo manufacturers are going to make a new ATSC TV tuner for car.
thanx for responding.. with my earlier post. one more question, does this work with my iphone 3gs? via bluetooth, usb and that optional connection? thnx a bunch!
The 720 and 820 and both compatible with the iPhone (all generations) for playback, charging, and control. To get video, you'll need the JVC KSU-30 adapter, but the rest can be done thru the built in USB connection.
These radios use the JVC BTA200 Bluetooth module, and it is not compatible with any iPhone.
Good news, either of these units will fit into a 2001 Mazda Tribute. In fact, you'll get a free installation kit, wiring harness, factory radio removal tools, and detailed installation instructions with the purchase from Crutchfield.
And if you have any questions, any Crutchfield Advisor can help.
Yes indeed, you can play your CDs on either of these stereos. Both have a face that slides down to reveal the DVD/CD slot.
It's behind the face, which is good for protecting the inside of the stereo from dirt and such, plus it leave plenty of room on the front for the 7" touchscreen.
And it plays DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 and WMA files on CD, DVD or USB.
Tnx for the quick responce. is there any optional remotes to it and how would u realy fit one of these in a older vehicle that have the regular "slot"
Good news, both the 720 and the 820 come with remote controls included in the box.
As for fitting them into a vehicle with a smaller opening, that would probably require some customization with some power tools.
You best bet is to talk with a Crutchfield Advisor at the number below. They can tell you very easily what'll be involved fitting these into just about any vehicle.
You might be able to view video from a smart phone, but not through USB, it would be through the JVS's A/V inputs. And even that depends on how your smartphone "outputs" video.
And last but not least, You can choose from four background wallpapers; Bright, Future, Horizon, or Plain. Doesn't look like you can use your own pics, sorry.
hey im looking at buying the avx 820 but i was wondering if it will fit in my 1998 lincoln navigator...also, will i be able to controll any device such as my smart phone (music, videos, or movies) with usb??
I'm afraid double DIN radios like the 820 are not a good fit in your 98 Navigator. A good installer might be able to customize something, but that would probably pretty expensive and complex.
We've got comparable radios that will fit your truck, call us to discuss your options.
To view ipod video on it, do you have to get that specific JVC KS-U30 cable, or could it also be a substitute for it, because I tried a cable that looked exactly the same, but it read it as cable interference
Hi DeQuanax, I've seen third party iPod and Aux-in adapters for some brands and models of radio, but I am not aware of one that works with these JVC radios. I strongly recommend you get the JVC KS-U30 if you have one of these radios and one of the following compatible iPods: iPod video 5th generation, iPod classic (80/120/160GB), iPod nano (3rd/4th generation), iPod touch (1st/2nd generation), and iPhone/iPhone3G/iPhone3GS Hope that helps, CrutchfieldTV 800 555 9408

Hi josen1982,
It's the same story in your truck as it was for DGBibo's Volvo, only a single DIN receiver will fit, these JVC models won't fit.
The installation kit for a single DIN receiver in your truck can be found by searching for item number 003FMK550on Crutchfield.
For a single DIN receiver that's similar to these JVC models, try the JVC Arsenal KD-ADV49.

Kingdimes,
If you plan to drive your vehicle's speakers with the amp built into either of these JVC units, you'll be able to dial in the bass you want with the 7 band EQ.
If you'll be using an amp and sub, the mono subwoofer output is strong, and you can adjust the subwoofer output level from -6 to +8.
Either way the amount of bass you get will also depend on the speakers and subwoofer you use with it. With the right speakers, it can deliver bass.
