I first heard this song sung by the Bauls of Bengal on their album that came out in 1973. I was a DJ on a 'pirate' radio station (we had no permit to broadcast, so we did what we wanted), and i saw the album and played it, and the first song was "O Ki Garial Bhai", and it tore my heart out, and has ever since. All the songs on the album are about Sri Krishna, Radha, etc., but the feeling of "Garial", even though it's about a mortal man and woman, has the same spiritual feel. I live in Calif., US
