Did. Its a lot easier to do that breathy shit for a whole concert than actually sing, which takes a lot of energy, maitanence and dedication. Plus its hard on the voice.

I heartily agree! I'm not sure why she ...does what she does now. It's the same with Britney - when she was little, she has this BIG voice. Then signs a record deal and they have her singing like Minnie Mouse! Sad how low the bar keeps getting.

Its a singing habit...they both were told to sing in an unnatural breathy way...they need to retrain to find theyre natural voice.

Who the heck would teach them to sing like that? My voice coach had me allll up and down the scale. Shoring up my chest voice. I ended up with a 5-octave range (Not anymore - the voice is like any other muscle, you don't exercise it, you lose it). I think Britney and Jessica are BETTER than they are on their CDs, if that makes sense. Their real voices are better than what pro-tools and that crap does to them in the studio.

a 5 octave is very hard to get, for a female.

why ? because females are naturally higher, a male can have 5 octaves easily because a male tessitura is lower than females

to have 5 octaves like Mariah

1st your tessitura has to be in an Alto or lower (like Mariah) starts at A2

2nd you must be able to belt high G5 in chest

3rd you must be able to hit Whistle Register up to C8
