gosh, I'm torn between playing a conqueror (for dual wielding and big-ass 2 handed swords) and a guardian (one-handed sword and shield, unstoppable juggernaut). Which one would you recommend to me? Keep in mind I've played both a tanking warrior and a fury warrior as my main char in WoW for 2 years.

Not bad. I still hate the combat system, though. I definitely prefer DDO's combat system to this, and the chaos of a battle in DDO is much more my style.

I may try out AoC if there's a trial, some day, but I don't think I'll like it all that much. It certainly looks better than WoW, but that's not saying much.

Not really, you can easily impale someone with a point blank shot from a bow in reality too. It's just mostly not optimal to use a bow over a sword at close ranges because of the reload time compared to sword swing. Actually you do switch to sword once close in the game too if you want to be good. I didn't because I wanted the fatalities.

That's not quite true either. It depends on the bow and the skill of the archer. I've seen it done many times in practice before we go out hunting with high pound bows...80lb and up should do it if you have the skill to aim straight. Most ancient war bows were 100lb+.

Most people can't do it, because we rely on the quill to align the arrow in the air. A skilled archer can penetrate just fine at a close range by making sure the arrow isn't angled. Sure, it's not as effective, but it works.

Can barely run the beta on low settings, and even on the lowest specs, it still glitches and jumps - and lags to all hell as soon as Im around any action. Tried changing the settings to Medium and my comp crashed. I dont know what the problem could be.. help!

That's odd. Your system should be more then enough for high settings. Maybe don't overclock the grafic card?

Your system specs are perfect for it. More than likely its your system, you might have to much stuff on it, you might be running to many programs, might have downloaded to much porn... :D

Do what i did, i did a system restart ( Press F11 when the computer is starting up ) before i downloaded the beta.

Works fine on the highest settings :)

Go download the nvidia drivers 1.75 and make sure your performance setting in the actual video card are set to Performance. Also force vertical synch, and you have to redo shaders after you relaunch the game everytime. Also it works better in Vista 32 and runs like crap in XP thanks funcom for sucking up to microsoft.
