The 964RS was available in two versions for the european market (the USA had a different version). There were touring and lightweight versions. I had a lightweight version and it did not come equipped with a roll cage as standard. In fact it came equipped with very little in order to save weight for the 'leichtbau' version.
As far as I know there were 2 different versions as you said. The lightweight and also the Touring model with all the options. The lightweight came optional with a roll cage.
993turbo i own a porsche 911 carrera 2 like this with an air cooled engine and trust me, it can kick a corvetter, it takes corners at 180 kmh thats pretty fucking amazing.

The tach is IN km/h...290km/h = 180 MPH...seeing as he didnt ever go above 195KM/h...he wasnt going that fast...look how long it takes him to pass the cars he comes up on at the end. 180mph would pass by a lot quicker

It says RS. The RS model was a lightened version of the Carrera with a roll cage and other racing features.

These 290kmh are about 280 in real...that's very good for 260hp or a little more. But i think this car has more; about 290-300hp.

this RS has also speacial bbs rims ans semi-slick tyres (bigger size!).
with a special electronic and a porsche-CUP exhaust-system, it finally delivers around 306bhp. sometimes it could be a little more... ;)
