@ego shredder I used to like listening to loading sounds on the speccy too. You're right there were some good tunes there if you listened for them. But this music is prob the best I've heard on a game.
This tune turns up in Ariston advert, although I think it's either the GameBoy or C64 version in the ad. Still a decent tune considering what it was that was pumping it out.
For anyone wanting a trip down nostalgia lane with a spectrum, get yourself "spectaculator" (spectrum emulator). Of all the emu's I've had, spectaculator does the best job and has incredible compatibility - even for original tapes (as oppose downloads).
I did some programming on it, and couldn't beleive the fun I was having reliving my teenage years.
i had this.... damn spectrum took forever to load and that damn noise it made when reading the tape.... oh god.... my ears lol tho i always wonderd why robo's face was yellow thought he was sick or something lol but damn i remember this and love it, thanx for uploading
i was too young to know the difference between any kind of spectrum lol i just remember getting one, with a big box full of tapes & got told it was a game... i can still hear that sound now lol thats alot of money for a game, like for back then anyway, its strange id quite happily play them all again, i saw the old nes in a cash converter window last week & got excited, suddenly the ps3 at home didnt matter anymore lol
I always loved the loading sounds and after a short while, you could tell where the tape had got to by the pattern of the data sounds. Also you could hear lots of mini tunes going on at certain points.
Does anyone like me remember loading programs from your local radio station in the 1980s? I think some TV programmes did this as well.
Yeah Ariston! I saw that ad years ago and immediately recognised the theme as Robo's.... noone knew what the hell i was on about! does this music have a title ??? I loved it at the time.. well still do actually... best music on the spectrum lol
yeah, when my mates came round for some games on the old CPC we'd inevitably end up with this on and us all instinctively adding the lyrics at the appropriate point
Cheers, it's bizarre how most Commodore 64 titles did have a tune playing whilst loading, most notably the Ocean theme which was the same in most of their games.
Yes, there is a remix made by someone called chewrafa, he has a youtube channel, but if you google chewrafa andorstudios then you´ll reach that remix for download.
i had this.... i always loved the fact that his face looked like he had bad kidney's or something..... or a member of the simpsons..... missed this ame, but the spectrum would drive me freakin nut's.... that fuckin noise!

I had the spectrum +3. Practically no load times for me! Though I never seemed to have any games ;(
You simply couldn't get them anywhere! +3 disks really were that rare. You had to order tehm and they cost £15 as well

@wootlanter Imagine the loading times if they had made a Spectrum +4 - with a built-in CD-ROM drive :)

I had the Amstrad version of this and the tune was exactly the same, was it the loading music or title sceen?
ScrewAttackEurope 3 years ago
It is the title screen tune, I think there are no spectrum games that played music while loading.

Yes, but there were little spectrum games with a nice ending, many these old games had no ending because it was not expected to finish them!!
