as much as Figo is perhaps my favorite player, along with Rui Costa; Figo was never very fast, just able to shift directions quickly. The defender was simply flat-footed. Ronaldo is much faster as-is Quaresma and Simao if you're talking players for Portugal.

@uncleflaco, your right ... figo wasnt as fast as ronaldo or nani are right now but he had a lot of talent and great foot work to make up for his lack of speed. he was still pretty quick though and he was still one of the best players in the world.

the defender isn't slow... it's just bad defending. Figo was running at full speed while the defender had to turn around and start running. The defender shouldn't have put himself in that position. ur supposed 2 stand sideways-ish

I am spanish and I consider myself white. He is dark skinned but its more down to his enviromental upbringing rather than genetics. Brazillian-born portuguese perhaps consider themselves part of an alternative ethnic group.

Figo used to be better than Zidan until they brought Ziadan to RM. In order to let Zidan fit in the system, they sacrificed figo. They converted him to winger. Anyone remember RM 2001-2002 would definitely say they were better than RM2002-2003

Figo has always been a winger since his Sporting days, if anything i think after Zidane came Figo did even better, i loved how they 2 swapped flanks and confused the opposition fullbacks, it was after Beckham came that Real fiddled with his position even then Figo did well coz he is a real talent, unlike Mr. David

Before Zidan, Figo used to have great freedom all around the pitch, winger, mid, traquinsita, forward . After Zidan, the only thing he could do to play on the wings. That freedom improved figo a a lot and showed his class. With Zidan in the team, it was impossible to have this freedom.David is not talented as zidan or figo, but he is real professional and used to play for the team. Do you remember 2006-2007 ?. .Zidan, never fought to get the the ball back.
