  • @KnightoftheTempleII that's a very good description. I always thought of it as a wild speed chase, the beat of the song being the hearbeat of an animal/human running at a fast speed :D

  • @eileenmelis That's what I imagined too :D

  • dark yet beautiful

  • does anyone know if this is the same singer from royksopp??!

  • @hazybabyy15

    Jep, on some songs...

  • @hazybabyy15

Royksopp is 2 guys. But she is on several Royksopp songs. Also known as Fever Ray in her solo project.

  • @hazybabyy15 röyksopp uses many singers to contribute to theis songs. the female singer from the knife featured on the son "what else is there" (which happends to be my favorite röyksopp song :).

  • Total Fever Ray sound.

  • this band sounds exactly like fever ray. maybe they changed to another name?

  • @xoxtaylortots @Lightsquarekilla Yes, The Knife = Fever Ray. Or more correctly, Fever Ray is Karin Dreijer's solo project.

  • @ubbecykelkedja that explains it! awesome, thankyou!

  • @xoxtaylortots Yepppperrrrrssss!!!

Fever Ray is actually the lead female vocals from the knife, her names Karin Dreijer super dopppe. hahaha

  • i thought this song was about michael jackson.. neverland. the monkey, the money that burns (fame, fandom). lol

  • Nothing is more fatal than angry man !

  • awesome

  • ery freaky, very good music for those with an aquired taste :)

  • First song I listen to by The Knife was "Silent shout" and I hated it...but this, this is pretty good.

  • the best!

  • DANCING FOR DOLLARS !

  • this makes me wanna start using drugs again

  • @Morgenbeyer in a good way?

  • @Morgenbeyer shit im on pills right now!~ Drugs r bad mmkay. Seriously O.o shits braindamage

    lol

  • @Morgenbeyer This makes me want to continue using drugs.

  • Requiem for a dream messed up my head. I wont ever watch it again!!

  • the ending of requiem for a dream is epic

  • For some reason when I listen to this I get mental flashbacks to the ending scenes of Requiem for a Dream...

  • This is poetry. ^_^

  • no better than the knife... period.

  • This is what I call good news for music

  • i love nordics

  • i love electronic music that goes off just as hard as rock.

  • @theoogabear yes electronic music that goes off just as hard as rock.

  • I'm new to this whole swede trip-hop style of music but, I love it!

  • Talk about the pain of what a woman has to do to survive

  • i love love love this song

  • <3 love

  • good tune i must be twated

  • oh god i love the picture >< and of course the song. epic

  • w kosmos wyjebane!KURWA!

  • rewelacja!!!!

  • hypnotic beat.

  • the synths and drums in this song just keep pounding away at my ears. this would be a song id be happy to go deaf to.

  • I just now noticed, reading the lyrics, that she pronounces words in a new way to create rhyme where there is none in print. I think this is one of their best songs, and that's saying a lot.

  • Typical Knife track...pretty sweet background beats...with horrendous vocals. If they would just do an instrumental track they would be awesome.

  • @IAmMoparNut Are you kidding? She's a good singer, just has a unique voice coupled with a jamaican accent (weird since she's swedish), songs like Marble House, Keep The Streets Empty For Me and Röyksopps "What Else Is There" are examples of when she's singing more purely than she does otherwise. If the vocals were horrendous as you say she wouldn't be able to carry a tune, which is nonsense since she can sing high, and has emotion. You're looking for a crooning rnb-beauty who doesn't stand out.

  • @6HagareNo6Yumi6 Jamaican accent? Not sure what you're listening to.

  • @6HagareNo6Yumi6 i don't know where in jamaica you're from mate, that's not a jamaican accent, that's a swede speaking english :)

  • like it very much.

  • temaso

  • this inspires me to write an animation. Great song!

  • I love this picture, maybe more than the song

  • a good synth, an 808, and Karin's voice ==eargazms

  • If made a full Movie-Video to this track, posted as a video-response here or watch it on my channel..il hope you all enyou! :)

  • This and her "Röyksopp - What Else Is There?" are my favourit swedish tracks..

  • @romperstomperxx

Wow! These tracks for me also my one largest favourites!

Otherwise Röyksopp a norwegians duo, but the "What Else Is There?" sings on Karin Dreijer Andersson from swedish The Knife. Enjoy it!

  • great song. feel like ive heard the main riff before though... woteva, still amazing

  • It's very similar to a Joey Gray song!

  • They are the best

  • intense lyrics

  • can't stop lovin' the knife..

  • I've found the first band since Cardiacs that sounds so unique. love it

  • amazing

  • beautiful<3 i love the sound at 1:58

  • sounds like carribean steel drums run through a synthesizer. the closest comparison I can think of would be pablo moses, proverbs extraction.

  • Wow I totally love this song!

A friend showed it to me and first I thought that it sounds a bit ... different.

But now I just think ... one of the best songs ever written

  • Check the other songs of The Knife and also check Karin's other project: Fever Ray. She's amazing.

  • Wow... you're right.. it's really great!

    love this voice (:

  • @petervossen

i've barely started to listen to them recently so i don't know too many songs from them yet, do you happen to have any reccomendations for me? :)

  • @celestexcore94 Sure, I like those songs best: Silent Shout, You make me like charity, Heartbeats, One for you, We share our mother's health & Marble House.

And for Fever Ray: Coconut, If I had a heart, Concrete Walls & When I grow up.

Hope you'll have a nice time listening to those songs :)

  • @petervossen thankyou!:]

  • @celestexcore94

Also I'm not done from Fever Ray, awesome song.

  • Sounds like royskopp is singing?

  • The vocalist of The Knife (Karin Dreijer Andersson aka Fever Ray) also did 3 songs with Röyksopp.

  • For me the lyrics are about a Prostitute who use the earned money in Drugs and share it with someone who can not even have sex with her....

  • i believe it relates stripping to the music industry, she changes the lyrics to sing instead of dance, later. "i'm singing for money, that burns in my hand. i'm doing it for dollars and for a fancy man"

    i'm stoned tho so whatever.

  • it's about being a hooker,with an angry man,wondering if she'll ever get home.

  • @intheekeyofcrime: I agree with your explanation of the track, it seems the most logical and most fitting - especially with regards to their dislike of the Music Industry!

  • That's what I always thought.

"I'm dancing for dollars...for fancy man"

  • Great song!

  • where are these ppl from? they're awesome!

  • Sweden of course!

  • From the grand plains of sweden.....

  • olaf and karin are doing another song, and possibly reforming the knife.

    yay!

  • good track.

  • best song eva??? most likelt 2 succed!

  • whats the problem with this comment?

    +1

  • My spelling errors? I was drunk at the time, oh well. It is the best song ever though :)

  • i know this tune from what song is it?

  • got it already :)

Boban Marković Orkestar - Od Srca

  • one of my favorites

  • Just hit me, that there are several reference to Micheal Jackson in this song.

    Superb tune anyway, 5 stars

  • what do you mean?

  • For starters the name of the song, the Neverland Ranch MJ amusement park.

"Where's the monkey that I've been told of" -- Bubbles MJ chimpanzee.

And he had alteast according to some people hazel eyes

  • I'm dancing for dollars

--> his dance made him famous^^

  • WOW GOOD!!!

    poor fancy man;

    dancing for dollars

    where is the monkey?

    etc...

    and i hear:

singing for money and it burns my hair!

i wonder if he had ever listen to it....

  • Prety Sure It about a prostitute, because Silent Shout Was quite Feministic..

  • i thought it was more about a drug addict, most likely female.

vulnerable heights = drug highs dont last

feed the hand that bites me = feeding the addiction

money that burns in my hand = all a drug addict wants to do is buy more drugs

    thats my interpretation anyway

  • We already stated it about Micheal Jackson

  • I think you are rigth but what about: "Where's the monkey that I've been told of " ?

  • This fucking delivers. Fuck yes.

    *eargazms*

  • GENIALNE!!!Kurwa-ale ODLOT!PIĘKNE!

  • Atram: zgadzam się. Geniusz w najczystszej postaci. ;)

  • to nie polish thread. ; p

this is not a polish thread.

  • @atram696 masz racje GENIALNE!!

    )0( Gabe )0(

  • fkn Bad Ass song! i heard this song for the First time today in my AP journalism class. The teacher gives up songs that we don't know and we have to write a story for every image that pops in your head, our emotions, etc.

  • This one tells quite a story, too.

  • the knife underestimate this song. they should play this each time they perform

  • maybe they afraid of the fancy man ;-)

  • probably the best shit I've heard last couple of months...

this song is exactly what I like.....

  • after such a long, long time I found a band that is more weird and bizzare than Cocteau Twins...

the Knife is definatlly my new fav band....

thanks god for Youtube, I spit on MTV and popular music, they are antichrists...

  • posser

  • I'm shure that you drink a lot more than me...

  • it's great to listen to this song while you are drunken =)

  • so true

  • They are so wonderful. it's just like nothing else. In my mind they are epic rivals of radiohead, even though they are obviously uncomparable.

  • i think two of the members used to go to my school=)great stuff

  • Sehr gelungen, sehr individuell...gefällt! :-)

  • Is this song about prostitution or sexual slavery?

Or maybe Strippers on a drug addiction?

that's how I read those lyrics...

  • I'm thinking the drugs thing is probably part of it. About the money burning in their hand, the title 'neverland', and feed the hand that bites me. To me it sounds like drugs or something.

yay, I love lyrics that need interpreting!

  • this is such a sad song!

    so good, though.

  • Wow, I was just introduced to this, and I LOVE it! :D

Five stars and an add to my favourites to this.

    Love - Mad.

  • this is pretty um.... interesting? gonna have to listen to more
