The people that have tried to help him have also been taken advantage of (like former roommates). And being homeless doesn't excuse stealing CDs and gear from musicians or record stores. He's obviously no dummy... he can find music venues in towns hundreds or thousands miles away, but he can't find his way to a homeless shelter. The truth about him needs to be told, not these "documentaries" that perpetuate the fantasy.
He ate the waitress' pie? I believe it. He routinely eats pizza that people leave on their tables at Lemmons in St. Louis (without asking if they're even finished with it). I also saw him shove an entire deli tray under his jacket once at the Side Door! The guy is relentless (and hungry).
If I were homeless I'd do something about it, like, oh, find a soup kitchen, a job and a place to live. I mean, a more respectable job, not lying and stealing. But that's just me.

You are welcome to grab a camera and do just that. I can't see you making a bigger ass of yourself doing that than you are here.

You'd do the same if you were homeless.
He's a fine human being and it was a blessing to be able to get to know him so well.

It is just you. Others see his disease and want to help, not throw stones. I pitty you. Best of luck, man.
