I got a friend with a bug eye as well, has ppg gears 1-4, 1-2 are straight cut and 3-4 are helical, 5th is factory. Don't ask me why he did not go straight cut on all the gears and got the taller 5th as he tells he has no idea. From the sounds of it it seems that has the helical cut gears in. Correct me I am wrong. Nice Bug Eye, looks clean and one hell of a drive way.

I was wondering, does the exhaust cutout affect a/f ratios when its open or closed? I always wondered that because the cutout open will make the turbo spool faster, does that affect a/f?
@cxbra No shouldn't effect the fuel too much. You're MAF driven. Unless you are in the same load/fuel column with it open and closed it may lean out a tad up top. However, it's unlikely and most tuners leave a little fuel up top.

@DeneanRyan1 Umm anything...cams should be last. I'd say go big rotated turbo or anything you wanted before cams. If you blow and pull the motor do cams if you want. Or if you need headwork already. But cams are really one of the last things you want to do.
@INSERTNAMEjoe No it's the cams......when the injectors are scaled properly (and latencies) they'll spray by voltage doesn't matter if they're 1000cc or 440cc around the same gas mileage if tuned right. IDCs will decrease as necessary per needed by MAF g/s and requested by OL fuel tables. The big injectors with older cars with crap fuel computers and FMUs loose gas mileage not these newer cars.

You will never get 450 whp on a dyno on a plain 20g are you high? .. I had trouble doing that with my red on pump and it's a monster compared to that.. Also I could do awd clutch dumps with my 39 and spin all 4
That setup above you on it's meth tune would murder your STi with it's red. I have a severe weight and gearing advantage don't kid yourself. That car weighs less than 2900 with fluids and me in it. Also I don't tune my personal car for second place.
The 450+ was with my red and meth check my vids it clearly says FP Red. Don't compare apples to oranges. A big nozzle (900cc) of 100% alcohol essentially makes pump a oxygenated race gas. Anyway, who tuned you at the shop Junior?

@cheukchan I had a Blouch TD05-20G turbo. I would not use the OE TMIC with this turbo or even consider an e-tune or "Off-the Shelf-Map" in the least. It needs a pro-tune by a "GOOD" tuner in person. That turbo is larger for the 2.0. A non-experienced tuner can blow out ringlands in the quickness. I would consider a VF series by your questions. Also XPT maps are horrid.....get a darn protune.

Yes the have the most power train loss between AWD, FWD, and RWD obviously AWD loses the most power from the crank to the wheels. BUT a 300whp WRX against a 300whp mustang for instance. @rextuner03 Actually a larger turbo 330-340whp WRX will walk full bolt on, LTs, Cammed, LSx cars to 130. A Terminator (03 Coby) at 390-420s whp will keep a doors distance. I tune them and time and time again i come to the same conclusion on the street.

My Daily Driver which is a S/C'd GSR with a small shot would murder your CRX. The heads on that scooby alone cost more than your entire setup. Car is a proven low 11 second street car and will be deep in the tens when the build is done full weight (seats, spare, cage, a/c, p/s, cruise...everything)

I just got done building up a new 03 WRX my last one go wrecked. It had a GT35R build up but my new one I went with a TD06 18G so it's more streetable. And I will be upgrading the gears pretty soon as well but for now I will just do easy launches so I don't fry the stock gears and clutch. I will be uploading my new vids pretty soon when I am done tuning it. Nice ride though man looks and sounds great.
The video response on this video is of the same setup going down the track. It was a cool night and burned the tires through gears 1-3. Even has to pedal towards the end.
id like to see the numbers this thing would pull without the turbo. im anxious as shit to get my ej257 in my car with some 2.0 heads. maybe just 2.2 heads but i cant find cams.
Yea it wouldn't make much without a turbo. They are dish FI pistons. Just the 257 pistons and WRX heads create about a 9.1-9.2 compression ratio. Which is a ton for a FI scooby. EVO run like 9.0 or so and its an inline.
@anthonyberry4 itl just be an all motor build to see what we can push. full ported angle job heads from a 2.2. stage 3 cam. custom intake. headers. pulleys. milled heads. trying to get 250 out of it. the long run motor with be either a eg33 or ez30. maybe even a ez36. anything from 240 to 257 na. plus some head work and stuff like that
I went 1-4 SCs. I plan on coming close to passing the HP rating on the gears. So every bit helps. I wanted all straights for that reason. It's a synchro'd box. If it breaks, i will be going dog.
It's a catless TXS Stealthback with a WBR full 3" stock style rear section. However, in the vid the e-cutout on the Test pipe is open. It has a Tial 44mm EWG dumped also....probably what you're hearing.
Forks, Front Diff, and just a new OE center diff....and thats it i think? lol I'm still on a R160 rear diff and have been making 400+ for quite a while. 2-300 launches and thousands of flat foot shifts. Check the diff fluid often still clear no metal flakes and no noises yet. Check my other vid the car roast all 4 going down the 1/8 mile. That diff if stronger than everyone gives credit for.
Oh yeah, new turbo is on......so look at the other vid of it going down the track. Doing exactly what subaru made the car not to do. lol Gotta love the turbo 2.5 boxer.

Yes the have the most power train loss between AWD, FWD, and RWD obviously AWD loses the most power from the crank to the wheels. BUT a 300whp WRX against a 300whp mustang for instance. Both make about the same tq and weigh about the same so guess what would happen. The race would be EVEN you brainless waste of space.

@rextuner03 Actually a larger turbo 330-340whp WRX will walk full bolt on, LTs, Cammed, LSx cars to 130. A Terminator (03 Coby) at 390-420s whp will keep a doors distance. I tune them and time and time again i come to the same conclusion on the street.

@0spaceboy Are you serious? I guess you drive the nicest CRX ever then......that Subaru put out over 400 on a stock motor. Did 500+ on that motor and will be making 650+ next month. My Daily Driver which is a S/C'd GSR with a small shot would murder your CRX. The heads on that scooby alone cost more than your entire setup. Car is a proven low 11 second street car and will be deep in the tens when the build is done full weight (seats, spare, cage, a/c, p/s, cruise...everything)

I just got done building up a new 03 WRX my last one go wrecked. It had a GT35R build up but my new one I went with a TD06 18G so it's more streetable. And I will be upgrading the gears pretty soon as well but for now I will just do easy launches so I don't fry the stock gears and clutch. I will be uploading my new vids pretty soon when I am done tuning it. Nice ride though man looks and sounds great.

Yea it wouldn't make much without a turbo. They are dish FI pistons. Just the 257 pistons and WRX heads create about a 9.1-9.2 compression ratio. Which is a ton for a FI scooby. EVO run like 9.0 or so and its an inline.

@anthonyberry4 itl just be an all motor build to see what we can push. full ported angle job heads from a 2.2. stage 3 cam. custom intake. headers. pulleys. milled heads. trying to get 250 out of it. the long run motor with be either a eg33 or ez30. maybe even a ez36. anything from 240 to 257 na. plus some head work and stuff like that

I went 1-4 SCs. I plan on coming close to passing the HP rating on the gears. So every bit helps. I wanted all straights for that reason. It's a synchro'd box. If it breaks, i will be going dog.

It's a catless TXS Stealthback with a WBR full 3" stock style rear section. However, in the vid the e-cutout on the Test pipe is open. It has a Tial 44mm EWG dumped also....probably what you're hearing.

Forks, Front Diff, and just a new OE center diff....and thats it i think? lol I'm still on a R160 rear diff and have been making 400+ for quite a while. 2-300 launches and thousands of flat foot shifts. Check the diff fluid often still clear no metal flakes and no noises yet. Check my other vid the car roast all 4 going down the 1/8 mile. That diff if stronger than everyone gives credit for.
