I love this gun and I use it as my primary weapon for the assault class. It kicks ass and in my opinion is the superior assault rifle. The only drawback to me is the fact that in order to unlock it, you have to noob tube 20 people, which goes against my morals.

i played squad deathmatch for two days just to get this damn gun... i can see why some people like it and in all honesty in one map i had tremendous fun. that map was operation metro. the reasoning is the lack of that thrice dammned APC, that is the game breaker for that mode, without it i had no trouble with the mode at all, if dice removed that game breaker than perhaps people would play it more

On close quarters I use the famas on medium distance the l85a. Famas has a huge fire rate but max 2 kills with one clip. L85a u can easily kill 3 guys without reloading.

Grip controls horizontal sway and recoil, the heavy barrel increases accuracy over long distances. There really is no correlation between the two other than the fact that they are unlockable attachments for the same weapon

Can't help but laugh at all these guys raving about the FAMAS. I actually enjoy getting more than one kill with a single mag and the feeling of being in control of the rifle I'm using compared to the 1-mag 1-kill/spray and pray rifle which is on the verge of bad and terrible at mid to long range. In my world, L85 > FAMAS every time.

Squad deathmatch isn't that fun but boy does it give you a lot of points! Don't know why it just makes me play more aggressively because it is 4 squads trying to get to 50 kills :L I get a lot of ribbons and stuff when I play this :L

the 100 kills with an assault rifle and 20 kills with a grenade launcher is really easy but the win 5 rounds of sqdm is nearly impossible without a good squad which i always get put in squads with very low ranks and im always fighting really high ranks

@TheMohguy same here but i finally unlocked it after 2 days of hard work and oh, one tip for the sqdm, if you get a bad squad, try switching squads to a better squad, helps alot.

I was aiming to unlock the L85A2 but with the FAMAS I've been racking kills much quicker and more efficiently at the cost of my ammo though, it's easy to wipe someone out in Close-combat, effective at medium-long range.FAMAS would be my first choice of a weapon, and the L85A2 right behind it.

As others have said the SUSAT is in its way out.

We now have a US style ACOG scope with a red dot on top of it.

No idea how long it'll take until it's fully rolled out but I saw some when working at Catterick and on that BBC prog "Our war"

Just keep playing squad deathmatch, eventually you'll win 5. The other requirements are easy as fuck: 100 kills with an assault rifle and im not sure what the other was but it's easy too.

I had to play 29 matches sqdm to win 5 times :( But the gun is great. actually I prefer low rate of fire because it´s way more accurate. Now i´m using AK74 but with this gun I got 200 kills in just 1h10min

All BF3 assault rifles except the G3 have the same damage profile (25-17), they are only really distinguished by ROF, reload time, recoil, etc. So, damage-wise, the L85 is standard, but the accuracy is what makes it so effective.

i love this gun got it unlocked and i was in the army and it handles just like how i remember and sounds awesome well worth grinding out 5 sq tdm to get it think it only took me ten times playing it to win five maybe less the other objectives are easy to complete

@keyzo51 : I just got it mate, here's a tip, I'm assuming your using the console version. Look for a server with between 3 to 6 people, and wait for people to join: You can choose what squad you join. (Look for the groups of high rankers) Take the vehicle, even if you're not good at it. Just make sure the other teams can't obliterate everyone with it, as they will have to destroy it because you're in it.

Good luck mate, you may have to grind a little but don't give up: Gun's worth it.

I dont get it. you say you can only put a front grip on it (@2:48), but then in your vid, you have the 320 grenade launcher on it. Is the frag grenade require a diferent grenade launcher?

You can have a grip, but the grenade launcher will be a standalone weapon then, as in, you'll switch to the grenade launcher as a seperate weapon instead of it being right under the gun.

i just unlocked this gun! (damn u squad dm)....it IS a very nice gun, very little recoil but it feels a little weak, but as long as i aim well it's all good. like u i never used the m320 until i had to unlock this gun, and it's great for certain maps...i just miss my med pack too much when i use it.

and didn't they already nerf the usas? i still dont think it needs a nerf though, you're right that it's not THAT easy to use to make it o/p. i'm actually better with assault rifles.

I hate using the noob tube, but you're right it is a powerful weapon.

The fun you need to highlight is the usas with frag rounds. I can't stand that gun. Its a walking lav. I have never called for a nerf, but that is one combo that is rediculous.
