these looked like such a clone of the crown vics you couldn't spot the diff if you were just glancing at them. the 92 grand marquis is when ford finally decided to make it stand out a little from the crown vic.
i wonder if the 91 is a true L.S...becuase i am almost certain the L.S came with velour door panels while the gs got the vinyl , and the pass side power seat i think fell into an option group ..i own a 90 grand marquis and my pass side seat does not have power , but what great cars they are ..
There was one styling change made for the 1991 GrandMa that I notice wasn't mentioned: The areas between the prominent vertical columns in the grille were blacked out. You can clearly see the difference in this video when you look at the two cars from the front.
Valino is the name of the vinyl used to cover the roof extension. It basically refers to the pattern imprinted in the vinyl. Other vinyl roof pattern styles used over the years include "Tuxedo" grain and "Elk" grain. Very pretty cars that sold quite well until they were replaced in the spring of 1991 with the 1992-2011 body. I hope someday to own a low milegage 88-91 GMQ and keep it garaged. Unfortunately couldn't afford one when they were new.
Such a pretty car, much better looking than the current model ( and I own a 2010). By the way the formal roof is called the "Brougham" package. This is a fibreglass extension of the roof and sail panel to give the profile a more upright look. The same method Chrysler used to alter the Dodge Diplomat roof to make the RWD Fifth Avenue. Chevy also used that same method to turn the Caprice Classic Brougham into the formal roofed Caprice Classic Brougham LS (1988-90).
That 1991 is a GS, or a one option LS. Usually the cornering lights are only on the LS and if it says LS on the back it may have been badged wrong. The standard LS for 1990 and 1991 are Cornering Lights, and Upgraded interior, which incidentally used to be the LS interior of the 80 thru 87. I have seen a model before that was badged a GS with the upgraded interior. Must of been able to really customize packages back in the day, right down to the options.
Nice

I have an 89 Grand Marquis. The interior has the older dash and steering wheel. Great video and nice cars you have. Mine has 27,000 miles.
