Just look at that!!! Another song from the beautiful Curly George......Cant beat the Cook Islands Drums and Dancing.............and the singing....Beautiful!!
The song at 5:20 reminds me so much of the music they make where I used to live... Not in the Polynesian islands but it was and island lol.. Love this mix :)
Hey guys n girls, does anyone out there in Rarotonga know a lady by the name of Teremoana Tunnui, dancing in the early 1990s when I visited. I always wanted to get back in touch, but have never managed it. name is chris.
I's be back chillin wid dem bubbles and de wickedz washing machines all de nitez long. De wavez of Cook Island Luv be spillen dere hipz on de Bounty till de sun done rize. De wackas and de dimmes dun have nuttin on dis downstream of Luvin. Be breakin more bubbles and jammies for ya!!!
i wonder if cook island have a link to TAHITI? language sound like the many language we speak in french polynesian island(TAHITI-MARQUEASE-PAUMOTU-and others island of french-polynesia).thank you if anybody know something.
Tahiti's got french language and cook island is more like a cook island maori language. And simliar dances but not eternally the same. Tahitians open their legs when they dance, sort of like the hawaiins. And Cook Islands have to keep their feet together. hope that answered your question =]
cook island got english language. yes we speak french and we also speak tahitian, paumotu, marquesea, mangareva, and language from rurutu and raivaevae. we have not one but five different language in FRENCH POLYNESIA.
Yes the original settlers were from 2 tribes that both met out at sea. The first from an overpopulated Samoa and the Second fleeing from Ra'iatea. So yes we are one people. Although legend has it that A tribe from Nukuhiva followed the birds to Takutea (Atoll) not far from Enuamanu commonly known as Atiu.
So yes we are similar in many ways. Our language is very similar with that of Rurutu and Tubuai.
Meitaki Ma'ata atu ra! We speak english as well and are Self governed.
lols i think they are coz when our people come down through the pacific where droped alot off on the way to nz that is why new zealand maori and the cookislands sound similar aswell as tahitian language
