You have to switch off the power in the basement to turn off the power on your brother's game system so he stops playing for a second. Then I assume he probably chucks the batteries at you or something and you are sorted...
Yep. Thats why the bottom screen was black in the Stage 50 video. Because Yuu was trying to find the batteries for his BS. After Yuu turns off the circuit breaker, he could run upstairs and grab the batteries while his brother is freaking out. Put them into his BS and turn it on, thus activating the Bottom Screen and starting the game.

One problem for him is gonna be standardization. If the Nintendo standards are not 100% respected, Nintendo will never license the game. And to get such documentation, you must get Nintendo's approval.

Wow, I totally love it. The RPG approach without any battle and the main focus on exploration, interaction and things like that are absolutely awesome.
Some of the idea are great as well, such as the little informations, which doesn`t stop the game, or the entering of buildings and doors.
I would love to play it someday... But Bob seem to have really big (mental?) problems so I hope everything is all right with him and that he might even release the game someday!

Wow, I totally love it. The RPG approach without any battle and the main focus on exploration, interaction and things like that are absolutely awesome.
Some of the idea are great as well, such as the little informations, which doesn`t stop the game, or the entering of buildings and doors.
I would love to play it someday... But Bob seem to have really big (mental?) problems so I hope everything is all right with him and that he might even release the game someday!

I totally agree with you about this game looking to be great! I usually hate the battles in RPGs, which is the main reason I don't play them. What I do enjoy is a good story/fun adventure. This seems like an awesome game I'd love to play someday (might even be worth getting a DS for?).

Sure, what you have created is a mighty accomplishment for 1 person, however the above mentioned developers are people who have invented or completely redefined entire genres with their designs.
What you have done is make what appears to be a common sprite based RPG, the type which was already perfected more than 10+ years ago.

Nintendo should at least let him try to pass quality control. Why so arrogant? I find a modern world rpg a missing genre. Could actually be a very good game. This game makes me think about Bart Simpson. Pulling pranks and twisting the world in your favor, but still you are just a little kid in a giant's world. Might be thrilling for kids, or even adults.

Awh c'mon guys, at some stage most of RPGs take bits and pieces from the creators' life experiences - in bob's game he just decided to take that fact and create a whole game based on that. Its a Role Playing Game for pete's sake, but instead of Cloud Strife we're just playing as the ol' plain Yuu.
BTW love the feel of the game, reminds me of Mother series =)

Essentially, the character of Yuu in Bob's Game is a metaphor for author Robert Pelloni's loneliness, sexual frustration and search for love in a bleak early 21st century which has seen the self-esteem of heterosexual males plummet to unprecedented depths. Pelloni has funneled five years worth of negative emotion into Bob's Game and it's no coincedince Nintendo is dragging their feet over. Each and every person of theirs who saw the game immiedietly burst into flames.

In my opinion, looks (graphics) are by FAR the least important aspect in a game of this type.
It's ALL about the story and gameplay, which fingers crossed will be great!
