You're welcome. ;-) No, they're not 'together' I believe. They would make a beautiful couple I agree. I think Caroline was with Boris Williams from Cure fame. She has a daughter I heard but don't think that's her. Someone please correct me! :-)
There was this local am radio that operated only during daylight hours and played only alt music, and I listened to it religiously once I discovered it. This song was on regular rotation and I'll always associate it with my intro to alt music. I'll never forget it and thanks for posting it!!
The drumming in this song is incredible. Saw these guys live this past week and Boris was on top form, chatting to the audience and spending lots of time in the bar afterwards, lovely.
i believe this band opened for The Cure on tour in the early 90s, possibly the "Disintegration" tour. i also believe i missed their performance as opener, and was later pissed to find out it was them that i missed, grrr, lol.
yes i saw them open for the cure (disintegration) in cleveland and searched for a while for their "tape" . fell in love with humroot and played it for my wife while we dated and fell in love with her
I was the original Shelleyan Orphan violinist when the band first got together in London 1983/4, but I left in 86. I hand wrote the instrumental scores of all their early successes such as 'Cavalry of Cloud', 'Tangled Perpetual'. Amazingly, this is the first time that I've ever seen these videos, which were done just after I left. Thanks very much velvetcaress, for posting this, and the other SO video 'Southern Bess'. So fascinating to see them after all this time. Richard Tomes.
man, you were great. Inspiring and amazingly natural arrangements that never got tiring. Calvary of Cloud is one of the most beautiful things ever. Thanks for your art!
Thanks to Velvetcaress for putting this up. Like everyone else, I didn't know these videos but always imagined they would be wonderful things to see.
Their discography is impossible to get a hold of... -.-;

If this band were new, and this were their single, they'd be huge and headlining Glastonbury in 2013.

"uncontrollably burst"...."let shatter come", there is very deep territory hidden here...
I hear it in so many of their songs...They speak very innocently of societal repression and breaking those chains...

And of course here I am again watching this song one more time!

The great Boris Williams (ex The Cure) is the drummer here. His musical taste and musicianship are incredible contributing with this pretty song.
Many thanks for the video velvetcaress.
