hi, nice video. I got little problems to understand everything, but my english is not so good. :) Ok, little question: Do you know how to connect more than 8 LEDs to one LPT? I've seen, that it is possible to use up to 24 LEDs on one LPT, but I don't know how. thx.
@SoncekZiga Yes, that way it should be able to connect up to 36 LEDs ;) The other way is to buy a new PC without any LPT and connect a fine USB-Card to connect up to 256 LEDs like mine....this LPT solution is oldscool now. But also thanks for the info.
The above line will read input data from the parallel port. But result will be correct only in MS-DOS or Windows98 (and all other previous versions of Windows). In versions higher than Windows 98 result won't be correct.
You first need an ADC(analog to digital converter)...for converting the potentiometer movement into digital signals to be sent to the parallel port...
To send data to parallel port...see the datasheet of "74HC245".....
Hey thank you for the answer. i thought that i had just to solder the 5V to a %V pin, the Ground to Ground Pin and the center one to data pin.. but its apparently different...
can someone put subtittles in this video?

How do I use MATLAB to:
1. Configure Parallel Port 12 bit as output port (write mode)
2. Configure Parallel Port 10 bit output and 4 bit input port (10 bit write and 4 bit read )

@michaelboett173 i don't know how to connect 24 LEDs, but you can connect 12 LEDs using also outputs 1, 14, 16, 17 ('control' register).

wow fast reply! if I find anything ill let you know. do you know if this app works with usb parallel port?
djdavies83 2 years ago
I know you can do something similar with a usb port, but I've never seen anything that takes advantage of it.

hey, your video will not play, it jus says
"we're sorry, this video is no longer available"

hi...do you know how to use the inb() funcion in c programming language to read input data from the parallel port???

cout << inp(888);

For output from parallel port use ULN 2803..
