Search for "Glenn The Voice van Vlaanderen Sound of Silence" he covered it in honor of his friends who died because of the storm during Pukkelpop. It truly is a beautiful cover <3 Of Course the original will always stay the best
This song is amazing. I love it with just Paul. Sorry to say that the memorial at Ground Zero is what brought him to my attention, but it was beautiful. He makes it look so easy to sound that great.
saw him yesterday in Hamburg. When he came back on stage alone and played this song with his acoustic... it was so amazing. i almost cried, that was one of the best sings i heard and will ever hear.
Wow! As one of many huge PS fans, this is one of the finest. Interesting seeing PAul play electric as late as 90, as I think he was playing elec in late 70s mostly.
Especially at a time when MTV unplugged was happening with elec artists going acoustic. Here is a primarily acoustic guy going the other way.
Any clues as to the SOURCE of this....A tV only thing? I have not seen this show on DVD...love to see more.

Makatozi - as an avid fan, the version of this tune on 'Central Park', is blistering!
I love this tune, but the original S&G one really didn't show the power of the tune... no offence to the recording, just think it sounds more humble and personal performed like this.
not a bad version - but the version from the Concert In Central Park (1991) is the best I've heard. In fact the same could be said for most of the other songs in that concert. Anyone know if its on DVD yet?
Agreed. Mr Simon looks like he just knows hes going to get sucked off and have his bollocks smoked at the after party, purely because hes holding the electric piece and not the shoddy tired wooden one. Paul Simon.....what a guy!
@MediaMonkey1102 How was Art Garfunkel holding him back? The reason they split up is because of petty jealousy from Paul Simon because Art got to sing solo on Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Art was in no way holding him back!
@MediaMonkey1102 I think you're right when you say that Garfunkel was holding Simon back, but I find that them singing this song together is the best way I've heard it sung.
@GodspeedJoshua ...they were BOTH the voice...I personally prefer both of them together. Simon's voice is way underrated. Garfunkel definitely had an amazing voice that was powerful yet angelic...but Simon's voice has a haunting quality to it that I love.
@jstarks123 I do agree that Paul is underrated, and awesome, but Paul was having trouble getting off the ground at the beginning. He told them he sang with another guy, brought in Art, played for them, and got signed right there. If it weren't for Art, Paul may have just been a songwriter for a while, and given away some of his greatest stuff to someone else.
@GodspeedJoshua .... agreed. It was the duo that initially became famous. It took the both of them to achieve their initial fame. Art still sounds great today. Simon is still a great guitar player, but he seems to have simplified his versions to a lot of his old songs. I prefer his style of guitar playing back in the '60's and '70's when he was still using his thumb pick.

Lessons from '68 - all the gangs' together, but what will we do after graduation?
Maybe we'll never see each other again? But that will never happen!
That was the story in Spain in 1990. And today?
Nella luce nuda ho visto diece milli delle persone - force più -
has PS ever sung and played much better than this?

I think the electric guitar is much cooler looking than the acoustic he used in the original.
Im sure the girls and groupies go way more crazy looking at an electric guitar than they do at a wooden guitar.
