Than you really don't know much about tanks. This is the British Chieftain tank, the successor of their Centurion tank and the predecessor of the Challenger 1.
I seem to remember that the Chieftains were built by Vickers in a factory that was about a mile long(!). Bolshie unions were conspicuous by their absence in this case.
Bovington is fantastic - I did a work placement there in 1993. It is also excellent for the T E Lawrence exhibition.
Weren't these tanks built by Leyland? I'm surprised anyone could keep them running, or, that they ever got built at all. Guess the constant strikes didn't effect military production.

the first engines were the leyland L60 thats why leyland is popping into your mind, but they got upgraded and were then more reliable.

Yep your correct, well worth a visit but I think there improving the museum at the moment so not sure whether is fully open
