You could also try milking (goats, cows), gathering eggs, fishing, you know ...all that kind of things.

I don't eat meat simply because livestock use lots of space/energy/food/water as they're being grown and so Vegetarianism means that there is more food/water/space to go around (in theory) which in these days of massive water and food shortages is a good thing! Being a vegetarian is also better for the environment than being a meat-eater.

If the population was much smaller and if the climate was not in such a state I would most DEFINATELY eat meat!
