Actually, the sparks are from the ionization of the flame conducting electricity and collecting microwave energy. It's not fake and, would appear that you, are a douche. Iphone's are not exactly edible so it's not going to feed the starving kids in africa, actually destroying it will save money as using it would cost money which could feed the kids. Radio waves are radiation too. Like microwaves. Microwaves are tuned to vibrate water molecules so they heat up and evaporate. Someone would have to try to die from microwave radiation before it would cause harm. Infrared is the place where the radiation starts to really harm you.

In engineering school we were working with wireless equipment that used very directional antennas. It basically focused a beam of 2.4GHz radio waves down the antenna housing.

Some people acted like this would kill them, but the professor thoroughly explained the major difference.

Its non-ionizing radiation, that is it doesn't break up DNA. Your only danger is getting deep tissue burns.

As for my story, you dont want to look down the antenna housing. It can burn your cornea and cause glaucoma.

I mean in general. The radiation form radio waves (for radios) isn't going to hurt you. Microwaves won't either, unless you get in the way of the source of them. UV is the radiation that starts to harm your DNA following X-Ray and finally Gamma. But what I was saying is that the radiation won't affect the food you eat. Just because something get's radiation doesn't mean it will retain radiation. But glad you know what your talking about. I have had someone say that microwaves were a color.

Oh no I completely get you on that. If someone's crazy enough to open the door and force the magnetron to fire up, keep it the hell away from me :)! Just thought I would post my findings, that some small amount of microwaves dangerously focused without any sort of protecting grille is an easy way to a serious burn and really nothing more.
