  • what does terry fox and hitler have in common, they both cant finish a race!!!

  • Would you put republicans and democrats together?....HoR

  • Also, those two extremely christian sisters from bumble-fuck-montana or wherever the fuck are so annoying.

  • I freakin love sophia. she is so mature for her age

  • how does this book know what day they would be in?

  • *whistles* Alex is very insightful for a 9 year old. I have to admit that he is right, all mainstream religions were based on the same founding principles. That being said, it becomes difficult to do a "group worship" when people call their god by different names and when their profits and/or holy figures mean different things.

  • "Would you put democrats and republicans in the same room?" We already do that. I think the kids should learn to accept others beliefs even though they don't agree with it.

  • alex is sooo cute and clever bless him

  • That was a stupid decision. Most of the town doesn't want one big service, so don't make one. Religion won't unite them, it will split them apart.

  • is it true that in march 2012 there will be kid nation 2?

  • Honestly, why does the council think they can peacefully hold the group relgion when they can't even agree to do it? There's argument already.

  • Alex is pretty smart for a 9-year-old. Very mature.

  • I don't understand why these kids are so negative about learning about other religions. I'm a Christian and I am not against learning about what my friends or other people believe in. That's the problem with American society. They are divided by what they believe, by not learning about other religions they have such strong opinions about not having anything to do with other religions and it is ridiculous.

  • @Cgrat22 your an idiot

  • Guilan 9:11 (hm, that rhymes.hehe) LOL , is he scared of that door ?

  • They said it on TV like 3 months ago!

  • I live in england and it may be different in america but I have a class called RS which is where we learn about other religions and its not a bad thing you just learning and understanding another religion there not making you believe in that religion

  • "I thought it was kind of pointless to hear other people saying stuff that they thought was true, but I didn't". The usual Christian attitude: If I don't believe it, then it's not important. Really sad to see a child already in that mindset. It's also very disappointing to see religion dragged into this show. It would have been much more interesting to see a "civilization" get on without any of that for once. It certainly wasn't necessary, and seemed forced in by the shows creators.

  • I think Olivia is right having one service would be pointless, awkward, and tense. You could still have religion just small prayer groups of different religions would be fine. I'm christian and as much as I hate her; Olivia has a good point.

  • jared is like Mikey from charlie and the chocolate factory.

  • Are they making a second season?? if so, when does it start??

  • 5:48 "The journal said if we wanted to we could start up a religion" So glad she added "service" to the end of that.

  • Even though this was made to be a kids show and a pretty great show at that, it is SO stereotypical. Of course these American kids would be all over Religion. That's just how they were raised and how the country survives.

  • Divad (the little black girl with the braids) when she got splashed in the face with grease her mother sued the show and thats why it was cancelled

  • Is it just me or does Alex's cute tooth change his position depending on what day the interviews were made?

I think in the beginning it was on the left side...

  • 5:57 gpoy

  • Aww that Alex kid is so smart, but he's just so humble about it. Sweet thang!

  • what's funny is that if you get a whole bunch of adults together from different backgrounds for 40 days to go through the exact same thing as these kids, this is exactly how they will act.

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha I still can't believe the producers of this show ever thought this was a good idea.

  • There making season 2012

  • @SamuelConnorTV seriously?!

  • @ziababy7 Yep

  • @SamuelConnorTV how do you know?

  • @SamuelConnorTV Really?

  • @SamuelConnorTV no there not. look it up on wikipedia the show was officially canceled in 2008 or 9 due to legal terms, they cant bring it back

  • @SamuelConnorTV Really??? where u saw that?

  • @SamuelConnorTV Really? Where did you hear about that?

  • @SamuelConnorTV really? when is it going to be on?

  • @emilygracefan4eva March next year

  • @SamuelConnorTV

    How do you know?

  • @SamuelConnorTV When will it start will they have greg blaine micheal taylor and all those people back on

  • @360FLOPPER I don't think they'll have any of the previous kids on it. Besides Greg will be like 21.

  • @SamuelConnorTV they are not making a season in 2012 why because some drank bleach

  • @iispwnge Um, yes they are. Durrr

  • @SamuelConnorTV proof please, there's nothing online saying they're making a new one.

  • @SamuelConnorTV How do u know that? Where did u hear it from? (not saying its wrong btw)

  • @SamuelConnorTV Really? Yaaaay! Yay! Yay! Yay!

  • Hmm the journal is oddly relevant to the conversations televised around town.... its like fricken psychic man! hahaha

  • does any one know if there gonna have a season 2?

  • 6:36 - That statement from Divad might be a bit underthought.

  • those children are so ignorent jesus christ was jewish and he founded christianity id liek to slap them all

  • sophia is a bitch and a gdi

  • @riptide3210 What does "GDI" mean?

  • @hallpriest9 look it up on urban dictionary

  • People were making their religions competition. That's not at all what it is...

  • do you want arguements all in one place... wait a minute

  • Less than 1% of the U.S. is jewish, yet at least 4 out of the 39 are Jewish? Mathematically, that shows they have to pick every type of person. Dad gum liberals, and 3 stupid atheists. Go Catholics!!!!

  • uh yeah divad you would put democrats and republicans in the same room. they always are. and they are hindus there and i don't see you hiding from anjay.

  • Sophia keeps me sane watching this show. If I were a town councilor, the second I saw the word "religion" in that journal, I would just say "No, we're not getting into this."

  • shut up krisjimo

  • 7:13 -What a concise and amazing statement. I am completely humbled that a nine year old could say something so wise. His parents must be proud.

  • They could learn about the other religions, the only thing that can harm them if they believing in them

  • I think that maybe people holding individual small groups about their religions is good. But pullling them together will start arguments.

  • I'm not bashing on Judaism, im Jewish. Just saying it's kinds funny.

  • Wow, I never really see many Jewish people around, and there's a lot in the town. Weird.

  • I would have sat there and been like: I believe that the devil comes and takes us all. They would have been like O_O

  • Alex is so smart!! I don't even know that much about all the religions!

  • Has the council ever thought about not doing what that "fake" book says?

  • Religion is not the factor in why people kill people. Please stop saying this "blank" statement. People kill people for different types of motives that stem from survival, self-centeredness, and self-defense.

  • Ignorance all around nobody on this episode and here posting have actually read through and really examined what is sacred to them. If they did, they'd really start to understand how silly and petty their self-centeredness is. Mallory said the smartest thing in the beginning by saying keep it separate don't try to mix or unite just let it be.

  • @jesusnoland I'm sorry not Mallory, I meant Olivia.

  • i love sophia's face plant during the meeting :P

  • He says "Shut up", which he has said practically every day since the beginning, and today, they suddenly decide to take it personally and get really offended.

  • I love Sophia she is the most awesome person

  • Oh man, I can't wait for Survivor: China

  • Resolving tis problem is 2 stay away from these issues if the religion is true it will stay from begining till end stay by yourself and never comment on try preaching if u dont want 2 get into such big issues u have 2 fight wait for your god 2 fight

  • ...Alex is a genius...

  • I hate hoe Divad says putting Hindu's and Christians together is a bad thing... Hinduism and Christianity are both good religions and they don't really fight a lot... now if she said Atheists and Christians then I would be more on her side :)

  • "In 1885, nobody took time to stop, think, and pray ..." That seems like a dubious statement. While there were secular humanists in the east (Mark Twain comes to mind), the people living in the west and in the Great Plains would have tended toward fundamentalist christianity. The Scopes trial doesn't come until years after this.

  • This episode is an interesting little social experiment about religion. It just goes to show how it can separate people and bring out different sides of a person. Like Olivia for example. Before this episode she was so sweet and mellow, but once religion came up she was screaming at the council and being very obnoxious and unsupportive of others opinions. I mean she even says "Why would I listen to what people think is true when I don't think those things are true."

  • Late watching this but I really like Sophia. Intelligent, hard working, and down to earth and best part? Doesn't believe in a God, hard to do for a kid her age but glad some kids are able to face reality.

  • "One person was Hindu." Ajay lol

  • At 4:34 Zach totally gives the finger.

  • i wood not want to get in to this my friends wood kill the person

  • "... Its like putting the Bloods and the Crips together in a room... kinda... except... with a lot less deaths."

  • you know Laurel's brother was on Fetch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • and the journal just so happens to know that they were talking about religous beliefs that day

  • @lovehermajean543 Or maybe you should think a bit more rationally and consider that they made the journal religious and so told the camera men to focus on religious discussions. I mean come now, they have several camera men filming 40 kids all day long, that's a ton of footage and a ton of discussions. All they had to do was single out the footage that was relevant to the journal, it doesn't mean that NO other discussions where going on nor that these types weren't occurring in previous days.

  • Cont. He knows about the Tower of Babel! I am in awe bahah

  • I am amazed at how intelligent little Alex is!

  • @1235blondie What reasons??? I really liked this show.

  • anjay looks so funny in the summary part in the beginning of the episode

  • greg needs to cuss taylor out and taylor should be a labourer abd be in the outhouse when it got tipped over

  • i wish i was in kidnation or this aired back again

    ff

  • i wish i was in kidnation or this aired back again

  • How do these guys shower?

  • @citykid190 they don't

  • @nerd4lyf123 I'm so saying that

  • Does anyone else imagine themselves in this show and immerse themselves in the situations?

  • @XxDerArztxX YES XD

  • this id crap because jews are christians jesus christ was a jew and hinduism is idol worshiping thats that

  • DEYAL WITH IT

  • religon man they know they screw up thats why this show got cancel

  • Alex Is Sooo Cute ;D

  • @ODST3211 That's a little hurtful. I went through a phase where I was athiest, and it wasn't fun having to only depend on yourself. But it can definately make you a better person for the experience. I'm Christian now, but I don't depend on God alone, I do expect myself to make my own life better.

  • @ODST3211 how in any way does being an atheist effect what kind of person you are?

  • Religion very important to people. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have our own ideas with open minds? You can respect another person's beliefs without believing it yourself.

  • @gjcutie well said

  • @gjcutie Respect? No, not at all. Tolerate? Of course.

For example, I'm an Atheist, why on earth would I respect a group of people that said I deserved eternal punishment for not believing the same as them. I tolerate their right to believe what they want, but I certainly don't respect it nor would I expect anyone else to. Religion, unfortunately, can be very hateful to others that don't share the same beliefs while preaching kindness.

  • @DarkBunnyLord you sound a lot like me and my unitarian friends. I think you can respect someone's beliefs, becasue part of respect is tolerance and understanding. Yes, religion is often used a very hateful way becasue of how people interpret it. I hate the idea of anybody burning in hell, and don't believe in hell or the devil or anything like that. Because i think, if there is a god or a spirit or anything, wouldn't it be loving of everyone?

  • olivia is so ignorant.

  • @ODST3211 you can be an atheist and still be a good person

  • they should do second season!

  • I love Alex! He's so cute! (in a little kid way)

  • "Arguments and.... other yuck stuff". Oh, how i love you Alex :D <3

  • E.L.E.

    Everybody Love Everybody!

  • so this is like the "Hunger Games" then?

  • There's no way it's gonna work.

  • I like how when guylan closed the door, he like fell over

  • seems a little convienient that the kids all start arguing about religion right as the council gets that page from the journal.

  • @draker527 the journal's fake :P

  • @draker527 its cause they fuel what they want the kids to say... also they ask the specific questions about the week's topic and use all the footage of they talking about religion.

  • I would of went to the service!! Hands down!!

  • @Skeeball22 Same here...even though I'm a Christian, I think it would've been interesting to learn about why other people believe in the religions that they do

  • who is that girl @ 4:39 ? some of the kids are never focused on

  • anjay shut the fuck up ur annoying

  • @InsanelyINsane 2007

  • the producers shouldnt have put religion in the show

  • Did anyone else think it was depressing that the "previously on Kid Nation" lasted 2+ minutes?

  • this is so scripted

  • Omg they have a new season i definatly wanna be on this!

  • Comment removed

  • isn't it funny how the whole religion thing happened in the same day when "Jew Crew" and "Christian Rule" thing happened too?

  • @Ilyakjedi I know right xD

  • I hope thye work out the one religion thing

  • i have a major crush on hunter, just saying (:

  • the little asian boy is right(: lol

  • It's rediculous for the council to make any sort of religion ceremony mandatory.

  • lol 9:11 guy almost stacks it

  • this show is so addicting...

  • alex is so adorable!

  • I wish I could of done this it looks so fun plus it would prove that not all girls are afraid to walk on dirt

  • I wonder what zach's parents thought at 4:35

  • I dont get how its like their suddenly talking about religion or something like that and BAM its in the journal... it makes me think that kid nation was staged...

  • @DanceRock2009 It's kind of staged. I'm assuming that whatever kids were complaining about or discussing heaps every three days, was added to the journal as the show went along.

  • @DanceRock2009 Well, obviously it was. It's reality television, no one even bothers to pretend that reality television is real, anymore. If you watch interviews of the members of Kid Nation, they blatantly say that the crew members would tell them what to say and stuff like that. There's really no such thing as "real" reality television.

  • @MsSceneHelloKitty how can she be your hero :S shes a complete bitch

  • honestly... if anything, religion would make the town more likely to fall apart--stupid idea, really

  • how the hell does this alex kid know about all these religions? he's a smart little kid

  • @JShenanigans Yeah...he's my favorite kid :)

  • that alex kid is smart

  • my friend laurel is on here!! thats soo cool :)

  • I see how parents religious beliefs and views affect their children I'm a Catholic and I have been taking religion classes since 1st Grade. Now im taking World Religion and I hope that people can accept their religious beliefs.

  • Sophia is an Atheist! YES! NOW she's my favorite.

  • I'm with Olivia in the religion debate. There has already been some tension between Zach and Colton, and they are in the same district. What the council could do is have separate services and at least see who is Christian, Jewish, etc. so as to get a better perspective on things.

  • Why are some kids talking about religion before the town council reads about religion in the journal?

  • the most kids act older as they are...I think that mostly has to do with the situtation, but still it's incredible

  • *I hella wanted to join this show when I was 8. I got hella sad when they cancelled it. T_T

  • Funny how each journal has to do with something thats been happening lately.. yea i'm sure that was written in the 1880's. I love this show though!

  • @mangopuppygirl The Kids Thouqht It Was Written In The 1980's, But The Producers Were Writinq It As They Observed The Kids..

  • Jew Crew XD

  • 6:35 its called 1: the senate and 2 me and my aunt joan on thanksgiving

  • is it just me or does the little asian boy, alex, sound like marcel the shell? 8:33 - 9:42
