ahahahh, this is a mixed arabic and indian and aryan dance and has nothing to do with Hat shep Sout dance . You are so funny ! The ancient-egyptians migrated again in Land of Punt , now , Ethiopia and Somalia . And they preserved the ancient-egyptian culture , language and dance ! So , go visit East Africa and don't be deceived by the euro-asiatic invaders and their narrow-dance ! Hatshepsout made an expedition to the land of Punt ,their ancestral Homeland now in Somalia & Ethiopia ! So ,think
@sajokal20 Indeed, you're very right. The ancient Egyptians came from Ethiopia. But this is not a dance of 3 million years ago! In the end we all came from Ethiopia.
I am sorry to see ignorant racist comments from arabs and eurocentrics . Even greek historians proved that ancient-egyptians were black indigenous people from Ethiopia . So ,go read , Herodotus , Diodore of Sicilus , Plutarquos , Strabo , Aristotle etc . The arabs conquered Egypt in 639 after christ , it is very funny and pitty if they reclaim the african egyptian civilisation and pyramids of 10 thousands years old before the europeans and asiatic invaders . This is not egyptian dance ! Think!
The ancient Egyptians were Black. For more details SEE MY UPLOADS. You will see things like > the mummy of Thutmoses the 1st had coarse wooly hair in a 1930s published book by renowned Egyptologist of the day; Sir W. M Flinders Petrie. He is now bald.
Or see the coal black grandmother (always in art) of queen Hatshepsut.
@ShaaRhee : indeed, the snake was a sacred symbol in ancient Egypt. Snakes protected against famine because they kept the rodent population, mices and rats down and reduced as such also the spread of diseases. So Kings wearing an ureaus (cobra) on the crown symbolised the power to protect their people against famine and diseases.
@ShaaRhee the serpent represents higher conciousness. hence why it is situated on the third eye, or pineal gland. also seen as standing upright, the serpent has also been said to represent the kundalini energy in the human body attaining higher conciousness. the word kundalini literally means "coiled"
Her outfit reminds me of my past life daddy's outfit except it was blue with white and golden collar. He was my mom's high priest and pharaoh Seth/Seto. My mom was the Pharaoh Queen too. Her name was Atemu.
A reconstruction of the dance is only based on static material like murals found in thombs and so on. Nobody can be sure how they were or how the music sounded. But some elements can still be found in some Indian, Middle Eastern and African dances.
i really need this piece of music 4 a dance im doing (i have a broken version) and my mother wont buy the cd, does anyone know of a place i can download it or can anyone email it 2 me or something? please?! im reali desperate!
that was amazing! from my opinion, the dance moves and the music really makes it sounds truelly ancient egyptian. the move set resembles the pictures depicted from many walls of temples in egypt inc painting. bravo! belly dancing is a part of egypt but this dance is for the pharaohs only!
It would be greatly appreciated if the visitors refrain from racistic comments. We are all humans. Otherwise, please try to behave like one if possible...
but she couldnt dance like this she had to dance like a porch monkey if thats true HAHA! i havent seen eny black dance in this way with grace! get real. NIGGA!
Hatshepsut was the FIRST FEMALE PHAROAH, thus in many carvings she is made to wear male paraphernalia like a false beard. They later tried to scrape out her name from statues so it couldn't be read. They believed repeating the name gave immortality...
That is very correct, the dance and the dancer perfectly picture this in clothing. Of course it is doubtful if Hatshepsut ever danced but that is not the issue right?
Hatshepsut is the Pharaoh who was a woman but dressed as a man, right? She even has a bread in her tomb and stuff. Well, I think, because it's a girl dressed in male clothing, it works well with the story... butI may be wrong.
I think the same, but, my mumm saw it and said the same, that is a woman :S
Also, this is male clothes!
But, I don't know ... is the dance of Hatshepsut, and she was a woman that wanted to be male in order to be respected. So, maybe is something like that.
You did think right. Whatever some might wrongly claim, the truth is that this is a woman.
That the clothes look like male goes perfect with the story of Hatshepsut who was a woman that had to dress and act like a man in order to be respected. The men in those times did still think like the men of the stone age... regarding women.
I believe this is a perfect interpretation of the Hatshepsut composition.
Nobody on earth can claim that they do genuine pharaonic dance as only snapshots exist.
@abdelhazim You mean the dancer is a woman? With those legs and this stomach? (And this lack of grace)? I watched this all the time thinking it was a man...
@irmar "all the time thinking it was a man", that's indeed a compliment for the dancer. Hatshepsut was a female pharaoh who had to act like a man, she even appeared with a beard to exercise the power of the pharaoh. So this female dancer really captured the spirit of the story of Hatshepsut. She was one of the greatest rulers of ancient Egypt, if not the greatest.
you know guys i am confused marioulaki said the dancer is male and abdelhazim said its a female but the dancer looks more on female but the way she/he moves is like a boy!but its great i like it so much...who is the dancer?
The only thing I know about the costume is that it was made by a wellknown Italian costumemaker about 20 years ago, but I do not know his name nor where he got his inspiration from.
Its great that the CEREMONY power of woman in ritual dance is returning, and the sex aspects of dancing is leaving
