Splatto, just curious I thought I saw a video in which Andrew Coyne just went off on Harper for trying to read this article in QP! What was his reasoning for that?
What does not wanting any cops involved in the judicial advisory board have to do with being a Liberal? That sounds bad, corruption written all over it.
heres why, the expansion of the welfare class of this country is essential in small towns, the last bastards who were in power where i live made it so mothers allowence was extremely high and all the welfare class decided it was a good living having children.
Why did you put the word 'revealed' in quotes? Nobody said it but you
The issue isn't revealing the information, the issue the Libs had was with it being read into the Commoins official records.
Harper found the article disguisting, that's why he brought it in. Do some background research on this to make the connections from a Toronto area Liberal MP to a certain group of terrorists operating here in Canada and abroad.
oh not at all, it's ridiculous how immature they were acting, i'm just saying that i'm surprised at the speaker's composure, if it were me i would start yelling at them telling them to shut the hell up. Why are parliamentary politics always so rowdy, british and aussie politics are the same.
To be fair every party is guilty of the vitriol in the House of Commons but this display by the Liberals was the worst one that I had ever seen.
My theory is that the Speaker wanted to let them go on so they would be shamed into better behaviour after the video was played on the news every night for a week.
That could be very true. So I'm not sure if you saw the video titled "Dysfunctional Parliament" It showed the speaker giving a speech condemning the MP's for their behavior. Was it in regards to this debate?
when your rights are gone(cont'd) I hope the first part shows up later. NDP are all talk, all parties have good people in them, but the leadership of all have been corrupted. vote cap or expect more of the same.
Maby if Harper answered the question. Then Stephan wouldn't have to ask repeatedly. And on the subject of voting NDP. I don't think we want a government that will support the unions before the troops.
the liberals where upset because harper broke a rule in the house of commons i watched this this isnt a fact of imaturity its a fact of the prime minister not having a fair debate the prime minister broke a rule by brinig in a newspaper to the house of commons this is press information witch is not true and thats why the liberals had a problem with it and to reply to that the liberals popularity are far more then 12% FYI i should know i was at the convention
1. There is no rule forbidding quoting a newspaper in the HOC. Every party has done it. The Liberals had a carefully scripted and choreographed response to what they knew Harper was going to say. Their behaviour is indefensible.
2. I didn't say the Liberals are at 12% - they're just barely above double that. Dion is at 12%.
3. Please accept my condolences for having to attend a Liberal convention and listen to crazy BS. I hope it didn't affect you too much
If you want to see chaos you should see how the Conservatives create chaos when they need it. They have this little manual / pamphlet that describe how to sabotage any order or decency. If they can't get their way, the instruction is to walk out of the room.
The Conservatives are a joke, and need to be removed before they do any more damage.
you can rae this comment thumbs down all you want but i am a liberal and i have had anough with this harper who cant run a country without lieing to the people of his country we will see who the prime minister is after this next election
Simple question... (although the lib-erals refuse to answer it)...when will you give Canadians back the $40 million your corrupt party stole? Just name the date! So simple! Your lack of an answer makes all Canadians realize the corruption is still very deep.
There are many reasons why CP has ONLY 33% of the votes. Let me do the calculation, well this means 67% of the Canadians do not approve of their policies and are more towards left on the issues. That is a very large majority. Wouldn't you say?
I know it is likely that you will remain true to the Conservative way, and will not approve this message, but just consider it food for thought.
And just a reminder - This is a minority government, not a coalition one. No other party has surpassed the popularity of the Conservatives, because the Conservatives are the only party Canadians are comfortable giving a mandate.
Go on ctv website. Did you see the new rule? The Conservatives ease weapon rules for foreign officers. Done quietly CP style, one day after the House of common adjourned. This makes me sick.
There must be a corrupt gene that runs through people with the surname 'dion'. I mean, it makes them dense and idiotic. Anyways, the liberals are crooks and don't care about citizens safety, they pander to the left with their hidden agenda and damn muslims who are ruining this country.
Yes you are right. The liberals are hiding something. All the parties stand for something exept for the liberals. The liberals arn't really interested in the country, they are interested in their own personel gain. I don't know why people voted for them all these years.
By the way, you have a great website. I am always made happy when I see another good conservative Canadian. Good job.
The Liberals are on the downfall. Their leader is an idiot and the people who follow him are childish brats. Such actions in parliament are unacceptable. Let Harper say what he wanted to say. If its so wrong then it'll backfire and hurt him. If its something that really puts the Liberals in a bad position then let him say it. Conservatives for the Win. Liberals are the past.
Shame? How hypocritical of the Liberal party and they have the nerve to demand an apology? If they want an apology, why don't they seek out the author of the Vancouver Sun article?
Maybe if Harper would actually answer a question, the Opposition would not have to press them so much. Harper's smears are disgusting. He should say what he said outside the House where he would be subject to Canadian slander laws.
It's time for the Tories to stop their spin doctoring tactics. They say they support the police, but they will not listen to them on the matter of the gun registry. Double standard? The facts say yes.
My question, however, is to the Liberals. Why is it that they are oppose to the addition of police officials on this board? Should they not have a voice on how the system they are involved in works? The Ontario Liberals have handed over the Teacher's College over to the Teachers, not a single Liberal (they vote liberal in federal and provincial elections) I talk to thinks that's a bad idea.
The Liberals are always immature. The NDP are always immature and the Bloc are always immature. The tory's are smart and way better then every other party. every other party SUCKS!!
i'm a card carrying conservative. i hate dion, but he has a point with respect to police having roles on advisory committees. and harper WAS using a diversion tactic instead of justifying the placement of cops directly into judicial decision making. thing is, the liberals should have let harper say everything that he was saying instead of kicking and screaming. the conservatives do this too, it's apart of the game.
this is not immature, this is the house of commons question section. If you study politics, this is the only place the opposition has any time to say ANYTHING to the cabinet party. Conservatives have done this, NDP have done this, ALL PARTIES have done this.
dion is digging the liberals grave, he is a fool who has no idea how this country works, he is a french man who holds french ideals of canada. we have given more than enough to the french, and there will never be enough. look AT the last budget, harper has thrown even more money at the frenchies to keep them quiet so they dont ruin another election
hahaha one of these days mr. dion will throw his own fecal matter around, and the rest of the liberals will most likey follow suit, just like the dieseased monkeys they are
This isn't some kind of unreasonable behaviour. "SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!" is what Members of Parliament shout when a Member (in this case, Harper) does something inexcusable and totally unparliamentary, like making irresponsible and ungrounded accusations against another Member (in this case, Bains).
Well, every pundit who wrote or spoke about it disagrees with you. This was a terribly embarrassing staged stunt the Grits pulled. They delayed parliamentary proceedings by 3 minutes. The Speaker had to skip over 5 more Liberal questions. Wake up, this was childish and nothing else.
To be fair, that thing that Harper was reading about the Liberal MP's father-in-law was a really cheap shot. The Liberals were right in calling shame on Harper for reading it.

Liberal version of democracy at its finest! [/sarcasm]. The desperate Liberals are acting like whining toddlers who don't want to hear what their parents tell them so they plug their ears with the fingers yelling "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU." That's essentially how the Liberals are acting right now.
great stuff! i read about this on toronto star and man what a bullshit lying paper that is.. they totally didn't mention that this MP's father-in-law is accroding to vancouver sun "Saini, former Ontario spokesman for the terrorist Babbar Khalsa Panthak". they just mentioned he is a witness and on the list of RCMP to be interviewed. but the article obviously has alot of potential to damage the liberals so it is understandable they started barking like desperate loons! great job and vid!
The Speaker was pretty lenient.

The Speaker (Peter Milliken) is the Liberal MP of "Kingston and the Islands". So the Speaker was being partisan, or he just gave up.
