Seccond post: I just realized the point of chicken boo.... It's not just that his outfits couldn't fool a pre-schoolar. It's that a chicken has more talent than anyone (particullarly in hollywood). Think about it, he's the best general/actor/spy/fighter/prod­ucer/cowboy..... you name it, he does it better than anyone else. What does that say about the people around him?

The '90s were a great time for comedic children's cartoons with generous amounts of parental bonus. Nowadays, I think more effort has been put into action/adventure/drama - just look at Avatar, Justice League, or Samurai Jack. There was some of this in the '90s (see Batman) but it wasn't as much the dominant paradigm. Of course, the anime boom also plays a major role here.

That's what happens when a talented cartoonist team and funny writers make an actual good cartoon. That doesn't happen more than 2-3% of the time these days as opposed to maybe 50% in the 90's...

These are to us what Hanna Barbara and Terrytoons (Heckle and Jeckle) was to our parents, and Warner Bros, MGM (Tom and Jerry), Disney (pre 1960's), and Max Fleisher cartoons were to our grandparents. As a 30+ year old now, these cartoons today just suck. My parents and grandparents loved Animaniacs and the other stuff I watched back then. Cartoons were appealing to both adults (with their subtle adult humor added) and kids (they ARE cartoons). You don't get that today.
