Mkay.... This is to clear things up for everyone.. supporters and trolls alike. You can look at the date the video was uploaded and see that this was made June 4th, 2010... A LONG TIME AGO. also the sound quality of the music. Make sure all the music are the same fucking bitrate. you can't have a 96khz bitrate song and them another cd quality bit rate back track. THAT JUST DOESN'T BLEND. The sound qualities shoes you don't care about the production quality. amateur filmscore composers and alike who are still in school will fucking laugh in your face. I don't care if you're 15 and this is the best you can do, i have seen 11 year old kids in germany produce world class tracks.
Now for your microphone it sounds like you're using a shitty cardioid microphone, Go with a condenser mic or a ribbon microphone. the vocal sonics on those will be more well balanced and fluid. The light static with the noise gate will also be gone. also get rid of the cheezy trance anthem remixes, this is not 1999 and this is not a rave. Reason being because trance in a children's cartoon is unfitting.
Your ideas are no wrong, you do what you want to do and not for the public. BUT your need to put more time and effort on your works. Like the voice overs for example. You need to work on the mastering of that. There is tons of headroom but very the intermetance of the noise gate it annoying, Get rid of whatever shitty preamp you are using and replace it with a tube preamp voicing capabilities. If you are not using a preamp, get one. It will make the world of a difference.
@choujidesu As I said, we are getting better with each project. We deal with issues like casting, mixing, computer crashes, and drama from the competition. Stress. You name it. Alot of cast members are new to voice acting, and they do their best. We're not a pro company nor claiming to be, but people be hating. Honestly I only help with music, scripting and casting (not for this series though, others on our channel) So you'd have to talk to our mixer guy, not me. xD Thanks for the advice though!
This shit blows. Best thing, get your stuff on sound cloud and leave it there. Youtube isn't a good place for constructive criticism. Sound cloud is a more balanced community filled with like musicians and composers. Put yourself on youtube, expect to get trolled. This place should be called trolltube. @Purufufuru Everyone has their own opinions but honestly I'd have to disagree with you. I've heard way worse productions than ours, and I'm confident in our cast and our skills. Sure we don't edit as great as LK , but we do what we can. Fandubbing is a hobby that we all enjoy, if you don't like what you see then move on. We've haven't had much negative comments until LK mentioned MM fandubs and people happened to go here. But thanks for your feedback, we will work even harder in the future! :)
@ChibiCatinc from most fandubs i've heard, the people have little to no concept of quality nor the perception of the audience. you're group is at least one exception (because i don't care for fandubs, not that i dislike them) to this.
my only complaint was that the tones didn't reflect much to the character's emotion of the scene.

@ChibiCatinc Well one advice I can give you is don't use castmembers with bad microphones(or those with lower quality ones compared to the other actors). It ruined the whole MewMew dub when Purin started talking all muffled and almost un-hearably because of it... it may seem like a small detail but it makes a bit difference.
@Purufufuru While I agree with you I'm not in complete control of the casting choices. Sometimes my partners want a certain actor for a certain role, and if they act excellently behind the mic then I just accept it. There's also the fact that alot of youtubers just don't have HQ mics, and we don't like scouting outside of youtube simply because most people with HQ mics are jerks. We work with what he have, and most of the time it's turns out nicely, with others we recast immediately, it depends.
TO ALL COMMENTERS: You know, there are plenty of other Mermaid Melody fandubs besides ours, so he could have been talking about any one, but either way all these comments is making us more popular hahah! xD
These old fandubs of Mermaid Melody are definitely not our best, but CCI has evolved alot since last summer, so if you want to make an accurate judgement of our skills then please watch our newer fandubs and be openminded when Ep 3 comes out. XD Thanks for your support, negative or not! <3
Luchia's voice is absolutely fantastic while speaking. Whoever did her voice honestly could do something with it. However, Hippo's voice is very obnoxious, it sounds unnatural and very forced. The script is written fairly well, but I am not sure if you just used the same lines as the official English dub. Also, changing Luchia's name to Lucy was another 'eh..' factor. Also, using english songs for the title song and background music is very distracting. 6/10 so far. Keep working hard!

In case you haven't noticed, there have been a few new updates on this fandub, this was one of the earliest dubs CCI had done, but we're better now. Mkay.... This is to clear things up for everyone.. supporters and trolls alike. You can look at the date the video was uploaded and see that this was made June 4th, 2010... A LONG TIME AGO. It was one of my first serious fandubs and If you've been paying attention to the previews and scenes I've been uploading, I've gotten alot better at fandubbing. I'm not quite perfect yet, I've got a lot of work ahead of me.. I'm fixing alot in the upcoming Eps, Please continue it gives more comments ;D

also the sound quality of the music. Make sure all the music are the same fucking bitrate. you can't have a 96khz bitrate song and them another cd quality bit rate back track. THAT JUST DOESN'T BLEND. The sound qualities shoes you don't care about the production quality. amateur filmscore composers and alike who are still in school will fucking laugh in your face. I don't care if you're 15 and this is the best you can do, i have seen 11 year old kids in germany produce world class tracks.

Now for your microphone it sounds like you're using a shitty cardioid microphone, Go with a condenser mic or a ribbon microphone. the vocal sonics on those will be more well balanced and fluid. The light static with the noise gate will also be gone. also get rid of the cheezy trance anthem remixes, this is not 1999 and this is not a rave. Reason being because trance in a children's cartoon is unfitting.

Your ideas are no wrong, you do what you want to do and not for the public. BUT your need to put more time and effort on your works. Like the voice overs for example. You need to work on the mastering of that. There is tons of headroom but very the intermetance of the noise gate it annoying, Get rid of whatever shitty preamp you are using and replace it with a tube preamp voicing capabilities. If you are not using a preamp, get one. It will make the world of a difference.

@choujidesu As I said, we are getting better with each project. We deal with issues like casting, mixing, computer crashes, and drama from the competition. Stress. You name it. Alot of cast members are new to voice acting, and they do their best. We're not a pro company nor claiming to be, but people be hating. Honestly I only help with music, scripting and casting (not for this series though, others on our channel) So you'd have to talk to our mixer guy, not me. xD Thanks for the advice though!

This shit blows. Best thing, get your stuff on sound cloud and leave it there. Youtube isn't a good place for constructive criticism. Sound cloud is a more balanced community filled with like musicians and composers. Put yourself on youtube, expect to get trolled. This place should be called trolltube. People need to quit raging, and get glad. Honestly the quality of craftsmanship on the video is horrible, and poorly timed. The mastering is also horrible.

These videos were mixed by us HS students, we don't have pro equipment or anything, like raper said we work with what we have. Keep calling this trash but this is what we love to do. @Purufufuru Everyone has their own opinions but honestly I'd have to disagree with you. I've heard way worse productions than ours, and I'm confident in our cast and our skills. Sure we don't edit as great as LK , but we do what we can. Fandubbing is a hobby that we all enjoy, if you don't like what you see then move on. We've haven't had much negative comments until LK mentioned MM fandubs and people happened to go here. But thanks for your feedback, we will work even harder in the future! :)

@ChibiCatinc from most fandubs i've heard, the people have little to no concept of quality nor the perception of the audience. you're group is at least one exception (because i don't care for fandubs, not that i dislike them) to this.
my only complaint was that the tones didn't reflect much to the character's emotion of the scene.
i get the feeling that some of lk's fanbase are blind.

@ChibiCatinc Well one advice I can give you is don't use castmembers with bad microphones(or those with lower quality ones compared to the other actors). It ruined the whole MewMew dub when Purin started talking all muffled and almost un-hearably because of it... it may seem like a small detail but it makes a bit difference.

@Purufufuru While I agree with you I'm not in complete control of the casting choices. Sometimes my partners want a certain actor for a certain role, and if they act excellently behind the mic then I just accept it. There's also the fact that alot of youtubers just don't have HQ mics, and we don't like scouting outside of youtube simply because most people with HQ mics are jerks. We work with what he have, and most of the time it's turns out nicely, with others we recast immediately, it depends.

Luchia's voice is absolutely fantastic while speaking. Whoever did her voice honestly could do something with it. However, Hippo's voice is very obnoxious, it sounds unnatural and very forced. The script is written fairly well, but I am not sure if you just used the same lines as the official English dub. Also, changing Luchia's name to Lucy was another 'eh..' factor. Also, using english songs for the title song and background music is very distracting. 6/10 so far. Keep working hard!

WE'VE IMPROVED so much since this video was posted. And FYI, I (Yukari of CCI) volunteer weekends teaching children, as well as giving my time to help clean up my city. WTF have you done lately? There's plenty of songs that may have song titles that are completely opposite of the sound of the song. Any hipster/postmodernist artist can tell you that much. Titles don't mean shit.
