  • awesome vid! I am Kevin Lewis, grew up and still live on Apollo Dr. a few streets over. Figured i'd type in lake view ny and this is what came up. My dad and six other siblings grew up in my house over here, he told me about what the neighborhood and cars used to look like, but I never was able to picture it. This shocked me when I saw how real those times actually were! Awesome family you have there.

  • @kevinmlewis24 Hi Kevin, Thanks for watching and commenting. We have fond memories of the neighborhood and we stopped by there to see the place a couple years back. Things have really grown up. We were there when the houses were first built. I remember playing in the woods and the ravine behind the house and then of course going down to Lake Erie to swim in the summer and play on the ice in the winter (I know, lucky we survived that!!). Anyway, would love to see any homemovies you might have.

  • This is a lovely family record. Some serious headgear getting used.

    Best wishes, James McDaid, Duntocher

  • @JamesMcDaid1806 Thanks for watching and hope to learn more about the Semple connection....

  • Weber..... sounds realy familiar! Could it be that it is an old swiss weber family?

  • As far as I know my Great Great Grandfather, Adam Weber came to the U.S. from Bavaria, Germany. He settled in Buffalo, New York where most of the descendants still live. Other ancestors came from the Strassbourg area and Ireland!

  • Well, Bavaria and Elsass (Strassbourg) is near to Swiss! Thats why it sounds so familiar!

  • I just looked on the map.. we need to go over and visit someday and see where the family comes from!!

  • thanks..it's all good. love john

  • Well put together - it captures the era perfectly.

  • I truly enjoyed this video. Made with such love, care, and respect for the family and the past. Thank you so very much. This was a wonderful experience.

  • Excellent!

Loved combination of stills and film.

A three minute twenty three second smile.

  • Thanks very much. We have some great memories on account of my father's home movies, and my sister (the red head :) converted them to digital--and scanned the family photo albums-- and then I edited them together as best I could in iMovie. Am thinking about adding some annotations here in Youtube... oh and BTW your home movies are incredible.
