@pattycarljackson Yes they did! They made copies for many years. I think the doors were actually interchangable with the hondas. It was very common in the 80's. Hyundai even made an Identical copy of IBM's processor and marketed it in the US...

Although Hyundai is not the same company, they still have all their success because they essentially reverse engineered technology and made it in sweatshops.
