You really shouldn't do that with out a glove. Tiny micro organisms can get into the water and hurt the fish. They are extremely fragile, like ryjack26 said. You're basically feeding them poison in a sense because you are contaminating the water and they are breathing it in.

yes your hands can have BACTERIA on them but i can tell you that if you rinse your hands you aren't doing any harm to your reef or fish. if it was like that this hobby would be extremely hard.
well, i dont know if this is a mating ritual. did you get the larger one first or did you get the two fish at the same time. this could be a form of territorial protection. aggression sometimes occurs when the fish is going threw a sex change due to a hormonal change. mating rituals would normally happen after the female of the pair cleans a large disc shaped area on a rock for a place to lay eggs,thanks for watching and i hope this info is of any use to you
hey do u know about pair bonding rituals or anything like that for clown fish because i have to clowns 1 is small and the other is excetionally bigger than the other i know that that means they are male and female but they have been doind some behavior that i noticed to match some pair bonding or mating rituals like the small one would go to the big one and start bobing up and down in front of it and sometimes it will chase the big one or nip at it is this a type of ritual or somthing like that
