  • oh and it weird that Europe labor and delivery units don't have anesthesiologist available on staff 24'7 specifically stationed in the unit special for births. We are talking about moving to the uk for a job offer my husband received and I want at least 3 more babies so I hope i can find another hospital in London that works just the way the one i went to works as far as birth otherwise I might just pack up my baby and come back to the states to give birth and then come back to London after..

  • Plus what nice about us births you don't have to share a room with anyone.. before or after. of course the hospital i was at was 3rd on the list 5 years in a row ranked by 5 countries best hospital in all categories in us

  • What I don't like from what ive seen in videos of Europe births is they don't give you iv's with sodium chloride aka fluids to keep u hydrated and that if you receive pain meds during labor its in your leg or butt not in an iv. I like the way the hospital I went to provides med services during labor I would never have a baby anywhere else or any other way.

  • I find it odd that people on here are posting that us hospitals are inhumane and its ether and epidural or nothing. Not true.. When I gave birth they gave me fentanyl and then I walked around a bit then they gave me a bit more cause I requested it so I wouldn't feel the pain of contractions and move during the epidural and every time my epi would stop working they up the dose of the epi and if you request more pain killers they give them.. and they dont force you.

  • The thing in her mouth looks like a bong .. What is it and what does it do?

  • What she has in her mouth is gas when you inhale it takes the pain away well eases it off my mum had it giving birth to my sister

  • childbirth is the most painful thing ive ever felt in my life...ive had 3 natural births..first child was a back to back, second child was born in 4 hours and my third was with a placental abruption....the pain was unreal but like someone has posted the pain dissapeared as soon as my babies were born.

  • Whats in her mouth

  • When I heard him say gemma I was like she has my name!

  • haha stupid cunt

  • OMG lady take that outta ur mouth

  • @sooouuuuper are you a male 10 year old? she NEEDS that.

  • @Thepoliticman wat ? r u a pedophile ?

  • @sooouuuuper why should she?

  • @pinkypoopz because i say so

  • @sooouuuuper go grow up!

  • @pinkypoopz lol lol im not the one whose name is PINK POOZ PINK POOZ so why don t u go and grow up

  • Lol...well done to mom..awww the things we go through as women!

  • @HomebirthHoney this is why I would not want to give birth in the US though. Here in the UK you are not given pitocin during labour. If you are having a straightforward labour without epidural you aren't strapped to a monitor. You are not automatically hooked up to an IV. We view the way women are made to labour in the US as quite barbaric and cruel. I'm planning a homebirth for my second one, due in december.

  • This does count as a natural birth, as entonox isn't really an anaesthetic. It just gives you a mild buzz. A lot of women say that all they got from it is the distraction of breathing slowly in and out, or biting down on the mouthpiece. Birth in the UK is a lot different from birth in the states. There's a lot more choice for the mum, about how SHE wants to give birth, and you are encouraged to be mobile rather than lying on your back. I spent most of my labour sitting cross legged.

  • I like her Pooh shirt and your accent. Yay!

  • She would have been in less pain if she wasn't lying flat on her back. That's the worst possible position for pushing.

  • @subculturistic agree with you there why do woman in the us lie flat to give birth gravity works better when ur NOT lying flat

  • you barely look pregnant

  • what's that in her mouth? i've never seen that before

  • What country is this? I am not familiar with the thing she is breathing into

  • poor lady

  • It looks like she was in a very humane hospital, unlike the majority of US hospitals, where it's either an epidural or nothing.

    Epidurals don't always work.

  • UK hospitals are very good despite what some people say and best of all NHS means free health care, my wife did`nt have or want a epidural with our first 2 children and she feels the same with our 3rd child due in feb

  • @ReviewCam ;'

    '

  • @ReviewCam where are you from? US hospitals are the best! wow your brainwashed or told to many lies...

  • lol wow

  • thanks PennyLegend, just let you know we are expecting our 3rd so i`m sure it will be exactly the same as last 2 maybe another vid???

  • In some countries calling somebody's partner the missus is considered normal, like here in australia or in england, my boyfriend calls me the missus when he's talking to his friends, i don't mind it at all

  • "The missus"? Are you stuck in the 50s or something? I'm guessing she has a real name, right?

  • wohh..whats the hell men!!!!

  • what pain???

  • ...contractions... O_o

  • I didn't find that the gas helped at all! I seemed to be spaced out between contractions and very much in the moment when the contractions hit!! Gas did make things funnier though as my husband decided to have a go and finished up sounding like a chipmunk!!!!

  • In Sweden you are not a pussy with that shit, you just fucking push it out.

  • i was a 14.6 pound baby and after they circumcised me i was 6.3 pounds. ha ha that is a stupid father joke. i know i know . if a man felt the pain they wouldnt joke. but thats one you can tell if youre a man. even funnier if you tell this as a woman???? ha ha

  • oh my i hope everything is ok!

  • im a midwife and using gas and air is considered to ne a natural birth as the gas and air is a natural substance as you should be aware that gas and air dose NOT change the pain make it easyer or take it away it makes you light headed inabling you to calm down and breath good and strong and long breaths

  • drugs made it easier for me , why should i suffer :)

  • I think that its ' natural' as shes having a vaginal birth??Is that what youre referring to? She is having 'pain relief' so purists would suggest that its NOT a ' natural' birth.Either way she looks like shes doing a great job! Might have helped her to be moving around a bit during contractions (ie. not lying on her back). Congrats on the birth of your baby-im sure youre very proud :D

  • this IS a natural birth, the thing she is breathing is called Entonox (often called gas and air)a form of mild pain relief, the belts around her belly monitor baby heartbeat and you also monitor the strength of the next contractions by looking at the numbers.

  • @gemari no, it isn't natural. Natural birth is minus drugs. This is a semi-natural birth.

  • @gemari WELL ITS NOT A NATURAL CHILDBIRTH DUMB ASS THEY STILL GIVING HER GAS DRUGS

  • look at the pain.......

  • it is "painful" because of hospitals, doctors, unconscious health practitioners and an uneducated populace. natural childbirth is a completely different ball game in my experience. study both in depth and then make an intelligent, conscious, WELL INFORMED choice....your baby will thank you with extraordinary behavior, motor skills and immune function!!! you are worth it and so is baby.

    blessings

  • answering to this question; "does it still hurt with drugs?" YES IT DOES STILL HURT A LOT, even doe they put some drugs on your i.v. I had 2 children just with the nonworking drugs, and 2 more with epidural, wich is the best thing to avoid pain.

  • I think drugs make pain worse.. I was in complete control until I had pethedine... the pain got worse it just made me feel space out!

  • pethidine is cheap opiate based crap which passes the placenta after a while and into your babies blood. shouldn't be used imo

  • I really don't know. I'm from Holland and they don't give you any over here. I had a natural home birth twice( without drugs ) and is was the mos painful experience i had. BUT while giving birth I felt so strong and so powerfull i knew that i could do it somehow.

  • -giving birth is the most painfull thing a woman can feel in their live, but when you see you re baby all the pain disepears you cant even remember it 1 hour after giving birth! -

This is not true!!!! I don't know why women say this..

  • @sharaug - i have 2 kids. daughter is 2 and son is almost 3. yea it hurt alot but the pain is a memory of bringing them into the world. i healed within 2 wks with both kids i tore. but its totally worth it.and id do it again someday

  • i gave birth 3 times and i sure felt the pain for days after as mine were all horrible delieveries . yep all women are diff

  • wtf is she breathing in, nitrous oxide?

  • that crack must be good.....lmfaooooo...beam me scotty.......lmfaooooo

  • forgive me mum for every thing bad i did to you

  • Labour is painful, birth is beautiful. I've had two drugfree births- and while labour is painful, the endorphins are spectacular.

Being strapped to a bed and prodded and poked by doctors would raise pain levels, which is why she needed gas. A hot shower does a better job and is less likely to harm your unborn baby.

    Homebirth. So much nicer.

  • Home births are unpredictable, and can be dangerous if something goes wrong which is exactly why most people are advised to have a baby at a hospital.

  • Homebirthing is no more unpredictable than any other birth. Homebirthing statistically is safer than hospital birthing- there is a lower rate of complications, a lower maternal AND infant mortality rate than hospitals, and a happier more beautiful experience for both mother and baby. People are not 'advised' to have a baby at hospital, they go because they don't consider the superior alternatives. Homebirthing with a midwife is safer than hospital birthing with a surgeon.

  • Watch the (very old) movie called "The Miracle of Life" and you will never want to have babies... ever D=

  • I don't think i wanna have babies... I hate blod, and i think its too painful...

  • It doesn't hurt that badly. Sure it's painful, but as soon as the baby is out the pain goes. The most pain is from the contractions. Pushing doesn't hurt that much and you hardly notice the placenta coming out as your too busy holding your baby. At the end of the day women go onto have more children so it can't hurt that much lol.

  • DUde...It does hurt THAT much...but thats why made epiderals, men would die fromt he pain of childbirth. IMagine squeezing a cantelope out your ass...Ow. And after the babies out it still does hurt because the muscles need to go back,t hey just knock the mothe rout. not being mean but men underestimate child birth.

  • To the poster of this vid,

WHY is she breathing into that tube? I've had six children, and I've NEVER had to do that. I've never even heard of it. Could you explain what the purpose is of that, for those of us who have no idea what that's for? lol

  • its called Entonox, often called "gas and air", is a gas used to provide pain relief in labour, available at most hospitals.

  • ouch does giving birth hurt, im almost due and i dont want bad pain, whats worse labour pain or pushing? does the placenta hurt to puch out?

  • wierd dont get it

  • its like no other pain in the whole world ! Its un-describable.Its almost euphoric after awhile it sends you into ablivion! YOu dont even know what the hell but damn--you sure know the pain! It messes with your mind that your in so much pain.

  • damn! thats gotta fucking hurt!

  • LIke your whole stomach is folding in on its self. THat is what the contractions feel like, the pushing feels like your whole genitals are ripping in two pieces.
