This pitch may seem somewhat canned and contrived, but understand - Ron Popeil was pulling down major league money at this time via selling at Flea Markets around the Chicago area. This commercial is one of his first for television, and it really gives you the flavor of his early pitchman days.
His patter is very smooth and polished, and he makes the entire process look simple, easy, and hard to beat. The product itself is a great invention - its still being sold on TV to this day.
I had no idea Ron's infomercial and inventing days went that far back. This certainly makes Vince Offer and the late Billy Mays late to the party with their similar devices that came to market on a few years ago.
