This is my last flight to Baja... we went dirt strip hopping all the way to San Quintin ... this landing was on our way out of Mexico... at the check out airport in Ensenada...

It is relatively effortless to get through there if you have the required paperwork and insurance. It is easier to get through Ensenada than through the private and public airports such as San Felipe and Mexicalli .. In addition both the controllers and the office clerks speak English. I've gone there several times ...The only problem I've had is when they say it's marginal VFR (visib 2.75) ... they really mean it.. they wont let you land. I once had to return to Tijuana for landing

I fly down to Baja often in my Mooney. I"ve never gone to Ensenada though. Is it a good place to vacation or is it more like Tijauana?
