Its a little late, but thanks Bonaires/Princetones for Bada Bada/Guardian Angel. This tune has got to be one of the main roots of R&R. Its 52yrs since 58' and when I hear it, I still move & groove. I'm guessing you guys were seniors when it was 1st recorded. cool...PghDave
@LDooWop What you hear is an acetate 78RPM recording. It is the original and the only one. The file was enhanced and tat is the best we coulf get it. There are 2 others but they are gone forever.
Did they get that "Bada Bada" hook from a school cheer? For some reason, that "bada bada boom di ay di ay" sounds like a school cheerleading chant, but it was that particular hook that everybody seemed to use in all the versions of "Guardian Angel" I've ever heard.
I had never, ever heard this version before, and didn't even know this existed. I knew many groups in the New York area had recorded this, but didn't know this was the absolute original version. You really can learn a lot of stuff here on YouTube, and I just learned something new through hearing this gem. Outstanding! Thanks!

Personally,
I prefer the Imaginations....BUT the Moonlites version is great!!!
Mike Paladino,
the Princetones,
the Bonaires

P.S. Peter Prince prefers the original..the slower version...

It was reordered in 1958 and never went any further due to credits issues.

Hello Donna,
Yes that is the same Peter. Hence, the Princetones.
Peter changed from Principe to Prince a long time ago.

Great Video Mike. Was Pete Principe from West New York in the Princetones?
I am enjoying all of your videos and the music over and over again. Buddy would have loved this website.

Hello,
It was not a HS cheer.
We had the melody and instead of humming we used the phrase. It was a hook (an ear worm) so we used it.
