Mortal Kombat 4 - Arcade Guts Review part 2

What i REALLY hate about Mortal Kombat is the special moves and fatalities being too difficult to pull off. compared to pulling off moves in Street Fighter and King of Fighters it's really frustrating.

Good review man, and I completely agree about the difficulty of Mortal Kombat. MK 2 is my favorite of the series, but it's way too hard. It's the only game in the series I've never been able to beat without cheat codes.

I disagree that MK4 had any good fatalities. Yea some were good, like Quan Chi's leg ripper but most were just pretty lame. One thing I love about this game that it had sooooooooo much blood, and an awesome continue screen.

I played this game the most of my childhood. I loved this game so much i couldnt stand it!! I loved the way they changed the graphics into 3d, but they stuck to their roots.

this is the only review i dont personally give a 5/5 i liked the game but in my opinion it's below MK2 and UMK3. But that's my opinion and that's what makes the world turn, we all have different opinions. Nice reviews well done !

i think MK2 and UMK3 are better games. however, What makes a good arcade game is that its EZ to pick up, and lets face it the AI on both MK2 and UMK3 are very brutal for begginers. I gave MK4 a 5/5 because out of all the MK games, this one was most suted to the arcade. . . Its Amazing to have a colector like yourself subscribed. Thanks brother

reason why mortal kombat was so successful was because of the players relationship with the game. When ur a player of a game u dont want it to be switched up to much. People dont like a game looking completely diff. Midway got around that by keeping classing charecters and putting a twist in every game by adding more. Not switching it but adding extra stuff in it to keep the fans happy with what they wanted. Not many game series were able to do that.

most fighting games never change things up. as a result. Criticts are comlaing that Tekken is getting old. .. and lets face it Street fighter plays the same as it played 16 years ago. .. MK changes things up, and that is what makes it great

again another well done review. It's sad that Midway ended the MK arcade series at 4. Have you played the new ones like deadly alliance, deception, armageddon, shaolin monks. The only new one I haven't played on the PS3 is MK vs. DC. (I'm getting it later)

I loved mk4 but i cant play it on mame how long and how much did u spend making the arcade cab and what did u use wood ect?

It took a life of planing. but only 3 days to make and about $400. I used an old Golden Tee Machine and striped it, gutted it, and rebuilt it. The wood you want is realy fine particle board, not the cheep stuff. Most arcades are made of it.

MK2 was the best MK. MK4 was the best arcade because it was EZ to pick up. with mk2, the first guy would kick your ass and many people were turned off by the game for that reason

Thats awesome. . .but in order to play more to get better you had to spend more. MK2 is the best MK, but its better for home colsoles were you can spend alot of time getting kick ass at it.

I remember MK4 as being the most atmospheric fighting game I have ever played. Never has a game felt so evil, so unforgiving and cruel, and it really made the experience memorable.
