  • Savage xl easily. BUT, first thing you should do, sell the k5.9 engine an get a losi 454 or lrp 30, axial 32rr-1(if your a newbie) or picco if ur not. Ofna .32 rips to!!!

  • @chevymanmiked i cant comment on how good or not the savage xl is but what i would say is rip out the nitro and upgrade to brushless. i removed my axial .32 which was great and now im runnin 1700kv (soon to be 2400kv) xcelorin brushless system with 5000mah 5s lipo. and it is much more fun and a lot les hassel!!

  • @s2j00b5 Keep in mind that what you see as a hassle is often the most fun part of Nitro to others. I love having to tune and rebuild engines, to me it's much more gratifying.

  • next time u get a nitro u shouldnt have an engine to break in dont put the body it becuz u make the aluminium brittle faster cuz of the temperature changes! its best to have no body so it wont over heat

  • hey about the break in process i heard its really fine to idle a first tank but also it really doesnt do anything for the medal untill the temps get in the 190-210 degrees thats when the break in process really begins in my opinion i dont think it would hurt to idle two tanks i just really dont see the need ,,, i just take a old sock and double it up around the head and keep a close i on the temp, also ive had two identical engines run totally opposite from each other1 had alot more compresion

  • @LTZ400MXJUNIOR38 well other then aluminum shocks and diff housings and larger mm hex,s oh and it has the 427with a different cooling head but both at .26 engines 26 ss or the 427. basicaly same truck but the lst2 is hopped up abit,

  • omg , i thought this came with aluminium shocks ???? but i see threaded plastic , so only advantage it has over my aftershock is is that it comes with reverse and has a better radio and a bit bigger engine and costing almost 250 more than aftershock.I dont think its worth it , but i guess everyone has their own opinion.

  • The hobby shop said the samething , and i was soooo close to buying one of these , so the hobby shop guy i deal with told me to wait till spring cause everyone's gonna take out more new products.

  • @Helgso but for people who are new to nitro engines this is the option  that is the hardest to screw up, so both have their advantages

  • just buy the aftershock bro ,there basically the same truck different shell ,wheels,and engine .

  • chassis is shorter aswell and radio gear is not dx3s by the time you get an aftershock up to xxl spec then you probably spent more than what i paid for a new xxl....

  • i agree, this vid was taken after i'd taken it from the box, now i've spent more on it changing the front rear hubs/arms/turnbuckles to alloy and i'm waiting on a new axial 32 to come into stock at my local model shop, lol

  • Why did you just let it sit and idle through 2 tanks and not run it at all ?

  • each person breaks in differently, it worked fine for my lst2, and also its 1 of the recommended methods by losi, allowing the engine to idle through 2 tanks then start driving and lightly tuning with each tank... this is how i do it

    I'm sure it did, and I did not that it was 1 of the break-in methods recommended by LOSI, I've never heard or seen that from anybody from Losi before....unless is is in the new XXL's manual because it's not in the LST2 manual because I have 1. I ran mine in an 'oval' burping the throttle through the straight-away's and letting off through the turns for all 5 tanks of break-in as recommended in the manual.

  • Did you turn lean out(clockwise) the HSN after the first 2 tanks as you so borinlgy sat there letting it idle ? - LOL YU should start tuning from there an not after the 3rd tank when you finally decide to start driving around. - LOL

  • there is 2 options in the manual of the xxl, 1 is how you did it, and the other is how i did it, seen as the reciever battery was flat i thought i would do it the boring way while the batteries were charging...i have a kyosho inferno with a rb ws7 and that was broke in totally different, more driving than just letting it idle...

  • no i'm in uk, i got the truck before uk release date due to a faulty lst2 i bought, (on my other vids) they tried to repair it 3 times and couldn't fix it, they couldn't replace it because they don't make it anymore, so i payed the difference and got the xxl.

  • the lst 2 gearbox had forward and reverse and also a manual switchable low ratio crawler gear. its not fitted to the xxl box,

  • as you know there's no crawler gear on your aftershock...

  • It's not a crawler gear and I don't have an Aftershock...it's an LST2 with my old Afteshock body on it ! - DUH - LOL

  • Yes it did, but not quite, it was a lower gear for backyard bashing, not crawling, and a high gear for racing...I know, I have one....read the manual ! - LOL

  • hey s2j00b5...how does the 454 do? like i said i have not got a chance to even use it i had just got done with the break in and was starting to adjust my high speed a bit when that shit all happened...if its anything better than the 4.6 i have in it now ill be hella happy..the 4.6 moves it along great it wheelies on command and has gobs of torque...let me know man...thanks

  • now mine is run in the flooding issues seem to have gone. (i keep the fuel lines empty).. i've ran this along side a friends savage 4.6 and it basisally wiped the floor with it... the torque is massive on this thing. and it moves!!!

  • yes lol it was against my beliefs to put the hpi motor in but i just bought the truck and was jonesin to drive it then that dam starter gave me issues...its crazy because everything s2j00b5 listed that happened to his starter and one carrier is exactly what happened to mine in that order as well...i bought the spin start back plate for the 427 but im waiting on the one way and connectiong rod to come in at the hobby shop, the carrier beat the rod up when it broke on that last run..kinda gay

  • This is exactly how i broke in my lst xxl about a week ago it is one of the best methods mentioned by losi when you buy the truck new. thumbs up buddy these trucks are bad ass i love mine although i only got to use the 454 twince and the starter has been giving me issues so the truck now has a hpi 4.6 out of my savage in it. lol its just to get me by till the parts for the starter come in...none the less bad ass truck!

  • don't replace your starter with the 1 it came with ditch the pull start!!.. .put the spin start back plate off the losi 427 engine on!! its alot more tough!! i broke mine after a few starts..

  • i had starting problems at first with mine. engine kept locking/flooding. make sure you disconnect fuel line to carb if you have any fuel left in tank. the size of the chambers on this engine can cause engine to draw in fuel after you stop engine, and when you restart it will lock up straight away. mine did this and it shattered the 1 way bearing carrier and shatered spin start lol hope this helps!!

  • All you have to do is turn it over with the glow plug out and turn it over a few times to get all the fuel out, unflood it, and then it should be fine.

  • The roto-start is definately much better than a pull-start anyday, that's what I have on my LST2 !

  • Why Are you idling during the break-in? you are supposed to put a little stress on the engine then a little more with each tank so the piston travels the full stroke.
