The crowd is obviously loving this. To those who were slagging Sandi off - My Mum used to tell us "If you can't find something nice to say don't say anything at all". To the comment that she shouldn't dance, well those of us who are bigger built certainly should dance, it's good for all of us isn't it? And as this was a Women Of Faith CONFERENCE , not a public concert, they were there to learn and have a good time doing it. You go Sandi!!!
Don't be "doggin" out Sandi Patty...She IS the voice!!! She can "sang" anything her heart desires....blues....country.....gospel...you name it! I've heard her in concert about 10 times and she's as GOOD in concert as she in on her recordings...and that's rare! So leave my girl alone....she is awesome!!!!!
Sandi was nominated for Female Artist of The Year and Inspirational Album Of The Year in this years (2009) Dove awards. This song is on the Album nominated - SONGS FOR THE JOURNEY. GO SANDI!!
Anyone remember The Downings? They did this song originally (and wrote it too) back around 1975-76 with a top-10 hit on the Gospel charts. There is a video of them performing it on Pat Robertson's 700 Club which they lip-synched. That video made it's way onto Dr. Gene Scott's Festival program and got a lot of airplay in the late 70's thru the 80's with The Statesmen's video of their song 'I Wanna Know' - I have the latter, if anyone has The Downings vid of Operator please message me.
No, they didn't! It was around a lot longer than that.
CLEVELAND (AP) - Bill Spivery, whose song Operator was made famous by the Manhattan Transfer, died Saturday, according to a funeral home. He was 73.
He wrote Operator in the 1950s. It had the catchy refrain: Operator, information, give me Jesus on the line. The song was featured on the soundtrack of the 2002 film, Phone Booth.
go Sandy...this rocks
