What about the Spirit XT-2 line, I know they're also made in Korea and have passive EMG Select pickups on them. I'm thinking of may be buiying one, their price is low and they look great! I'd like some feedback on those XT-2 bass if someone own one... Loose your head!
an i ask you if it is possible to put normal Strings ? (with only one end ball) , this bass is so portable but i think i will be problems to find double end strings.
I play a Hohner B2 passive bass from the eighties and you can call it anything but cold and sterile.
Turn the tone knob just a slightly open, and turn the both element knobs completly open, use GHS bassboomers double ball end strings, and you'll have a wonderfull sound!
Hi Maresch, dont get me wrong, I love the sound of the Hohners and Steinbergers, and just google " Steinberger + cold + sterile" and you'll see, that this is not only my opinion...anyway, Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!
What I'm trying to say is that the sound that I hear in your video, is not the sound that I know from my own Hohner bassguitar.
If you are interested in such an instrument, I'll advise to look for a passive Hohner B2 (without the "A") made between - I think- 1985 and 1992. You'll find them every know and then on for example E-Bay.
With the right settings and a good set of strings you'll have a good and original instrument for just a fraction of the price of all those famous brands.
Hi Maresch. It's okay :-) I really dig the sound of my hohner, for warm and ballsy tone, I still have my Fender Precision from the year 1969, so I'm in no need for another warm sounding Hohner, thank you :-)
Thanks for uploading a video of this Hohner. I heard the Steinberger proper and it sounded really bad. the Hohner actually sounds better that would be my opinion from hearing them from the net and collaborated from others this seems to be the consensus. I was interested in the 5-string I guess it probably sounds as good
@halo2pc That may be a blessing in disguise as it were. Since you already don't like the look, you can get the single-ball string adapter without worrying about ruining the look. More variety, cheaper strings!
(Disclaimer: playing my B2 with double-balls, not affiliated with adapter guy, but considering.)

@carloscoimbra2008
Hi Carlos! Yeah, there is a way to use normal Strings, you have to buy a String Adapter, doenst look very cool, but you can use any Strings you want.
Google Search: Steinberger String Adapter
