This tremolissimo operatic soprano simply doesn't fit or suit this otherwise beautiful Chesnokov composition. The most beautiful Russian Orthodox choral music is totally free of tremolos.
@persenso Nothing personal or directly toward you, but can people please stop connecting Russia to Communism already? It's been over for decades now, but apparently America hasn't exactly worked out the paranoia of the Cold War just yet. Especially please stop mentioning it in the comment sections of videos like these, that pertain to Orthodox Christianity, not political orientation.
@NekoKitty14 I think that communism is very dangerous. also exists in the post communist a socialism ideology anti-Christian is very dangerous. I think it is important to learn from the Russian people, Russian sacred land, 100% Orthodox 100% nationalist and anti-communist
@persenso Communism is only dangerous to the human mind. The basic idea of Communism is of a utopia, where everybody shares and benefits as one. Humans, however, tend to fall prey to the temptation for power, therefore proving Communism is the perfect, yet impossible governments ever.
A summary of Communism is, "So close, yet so far."
@wiseman2131 Everybody sharing and benefiting as one is basically Christ's teaching - the first Christian communities could be described as communist in the pure sense of the word.
@designedsayer The Russian language was heavily influenced by Latin, as far as I know. Whenever I speak it, I constantly notice exact words or word roots from Latin. Greek, well...I believe they also influenced many languages, but I haven't noticed much in Russian. :/
@NekoKitty14 Russian is a Slavic language in the Indo-European family. SLAVIC vs LATIN. : ) It also has a considerable number of words of Finno-Ugric origin (north of Europe). Over the course of centuries, the vocabulary and literary style was influenced by Western and Central European languages such as Polish, Latin, Dutch, German, French, and English. The punctuation, originally based on Byzantine Greek, was in the 17th and 18th centuries reformulated on the French and German models.
@NekoKitty14 All of you are forgeting about Bulgarians :) Our country was the first to adobt Slavonic Language and then the disciples of St Patriarch Euthimius spread around the world because of the TUrkish. They influenced all the Slavic cultures, including Russians :)
Kammerchoir St. Petersburg (eng: Saint-Petersburg Chamber Choir) is directed by Nikolai Korniev. Olga Borodina -- mezzo soprano who sings solo with this choir. She does not sing the solo in this recording, as it is for a soprano.
Thaks for your comment and at the same time thanks for your notice!! Olga Borodina is mistake, he is great rusian mezzo-sopano but this part sings soprano (name is unknown?), choir condukts Nikolai Korniev, again thaks fo my mistake! Have a nice day!

What is pity is that sometimes the Church is being transformed into an Opera House... Do not forget the Greek traditions and the Byzantine Singing.

Why does Greek sound so ugly compared to OCS and Latin? OCS, Russian, And Latin chants are so beautiful that I swear I'm hearing angels swinging.
