Pretty much. Or at least that the little stripe between the wings is all that matters when checking for collisions with ships or with bullets of the opposite color. (Those of the same color are absorbed by the shield, which is bigger.)

Well, there's some diffrences in patterns on Easy/Normal/Hard. (One easy way to tell this is to fight the First boss on easy, then hard. The first attack he does has a wider/more spread on Hard.)

Just bought Ikaruga and playing online co-op with my head. Awesome game to play with friends for the first time, especially people not used to top-down shooters because it's so crazy haha. Awesome job btw, especially sneaking through those crate things.

This game is a favorite of mine. I loved the concept of switching between light and dark ships and eating those little dots. It took the classic shoot em up and gave it a unique twist. Also, you gotta love the fact that you could go through an entire level without firing a single shot.
