Sorry this is NOT about gambling as a card game etc. It's about a girl who is moving from boyfriend to boyfriend playing with the game of love. She moves onto the next boyfriend before she gets too involved with the current one. Seger was a past boyfriend who loved her. He was onto her game and hoped she would quit to be with him forever. She didn't and left him. He ran into her after a couple of years have gone by to see she was STILL playing the same games with men. Outstanding song.
