I especially liked the answer to the "should the principal be spending time on this," question. Yep, it turns out history is a pretty important part of the school's curriculum, and having a principal who brings school events (like the holidays that they _do_ celebrate) into historical perspective is just as important as administering standardized tests (I'd argue, more-so).
