Might I add to this whole "rip off" thing you are talking about and say that they were both created by the same man, Dan Patterson so therefore it cannot really be a rip off. Both programs are about off-the-wall improvised humour (even though this is partially scripted) so therefore they are also going to be similar in that respect.

Okay, geez.. First of all I do watch the show. and I love it. I never miss it, I think it's great.

What I meant was, for rounds such as the stand up round, news generator etc etc, its not 'improvisation'. Its pre-agreed who is doing what subjects etc and the guys know in advance what the topics are so they can prepare there bit...

The banter amongst them during rounds is obviously not like this, but its not 'improv' as such...just making jokes they think of depending on the topic...

This video raises some interesting points on the show; entirely forgot how reliant it is on mild mannered news stories. There's plenty of events but like Dara said, you can't laugh at plane crashes and the like. Hang in there Mock the Week, Ill send an elephant to present stand up to the world.
