It's akin to liking to play low notes on a flugelhorn and having someone react by saying "why don't you just play trombone?" The neck is different, the weight is different, the sound is different, the fine-tuning of the electronics are different... the similarity is that there are strings, hands, and wood involved in producing a sound.
