  • Hi all..this year the festival begins on 26th Nov..all are welcome!!

  • You are welcome. Thanks for your compliments.

  • Thank you very much for posting. This brings back a lot of childhood memories. My parents use to take us to this festival.

May god bless you for posting this video, which will bring joy to a lot of devotees of poornathrayeesan worldwide

  • Hi..I am from Tripunithura. This is the clipping of our 8-day annual festival falls in Nov-Dec every year. The deity is Lord Orrnathrayeesa (The Lord of all 'veda's). Dec 10th was fourth day - most auspicious of the eight - the lord comes out on top of the tallest/ seniormost elephant in the middle decorated with pure gold ornaments. The one in film is Srinivasan, onhis right is Karnan, then Chandrasekharan.. the music is from trditional 'maddalam' (one type of drum played with both hands)..

  • You wrote you are from Tripunithura, do you mean the temple itself? Thank you for the information.

  • Hi.small typing error in my earlier mail- the lord is Sree Poornathrayeesa! yeah my father is from Royal Familly of princely state of Cochin - the lord is their 'Paradevatha' (the family's deity) and this temple belonged to them, handed over to the Govt. by the erstwhile King after independence of India. All wealth has been given by the family only..in return the King accepted only 5 copies of Got. Calender!!! He said the country belongs to the people..I'm only its custodian!!
