While the protagonists in persona 3 and 4 are largely meant as mirrors for the player, they aren't completely without character, there are enough differences between the two and the options you are given when handling them to distinguish them from each other. That both MCs are able to behave completely differently depending on the situation is kind of an important plot point which I believe Igor mentions if you max all social links in persona 3.

I hate the P3 MC though, he seemed like a manipulative prick (tell a girl to run away from home, tell you friend to pursue a romance with a teacher that has no chance of succeeding.....)

@SammEater You can't miss the true ending if you still have a save file from before you beat the game initially. Simply load up your old save file, play through the farewell sequence but refuse to go back home immediately and instead go to Junes.

It hooked me far too much (Persona 4 is the only other game that did so, by the way). The battle system is enjoyable simply because you don't have to refresh MP constantly and because it's both tactical and easy to learn.

@TheTruth4290 Hey, I enjoy both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. I would not call *all* of FF's stories mediocre. As for Kingdom Hearts...the plot holes and convolution irrefutably weaken it. At the same time, I enjoy them. It *is* possible to enjoy both you know.

But on a whole scale, Persona plots **** all over any Final Fantasy I have played and every Kingdom Hearts title. If only Persona were not so niche'-believe, the scales would be far different.
